Ive spent many hours to configure them.
Flying around on each monument to find out what npcs spawned where, how many spawned, and configured each of them individual.
Speed, damage, gear, how many of each type and such....
The default setting on them is pretty crazy to be honest..... Way too powerful and you will loose the causual players that isnt that experienced.
Snipers on Airfied, Arctic and Launchsite oneshot you on the default setting.
Test the Npc's yourself, and listen to feedback from your players.
It takes alot of time,. but when you have them up and running with the settings you want, you wont regret it.....

I learned it in the hard way,  had 8 players on the server testing the plugin with standard settings... 7 abandoned the server and one liked it a lot and played 4 hrs. Had to disable the plugin because... there are 98 files in the data folder to config... and 31 only for the monuments. This i why i ask for a global npc count multiplier, so we can easy and fast turn down the npc count in a fast way if players are noobs. I found an alternative for that in a faster way without modyfy 30 files.  I don't use it for now, hope my purchase helps to improve the plugin with global multipliers/settings for monuments and tunnels, they are the most of the files. I like it, but I need to take the time to configure it and as a lazy person this is not making things faster.

Did want to just confirm the other answer that there is nothing in the plugin that changes the Heavy Scientists brought by the Chinook at Oil Rigs. There are configurations for NPCs that will defend the rig, but not the heavy scientists.

The CH47 event is regarding when Chinook drops hackable crates.

There is not really any way to do a global count multiplier on such a large scale for so many different combinations of configurations. Some presets only have 1 sniper lookout for example, some have large numbers. To adjust all of them at once would cause more problems than it would solve. Some files have one preset in them some have multiple presets. There are too many variables to make a simple global multiplier.

Look for other methods to speed up the process. Copy & Paste is your friend for example. Alternatively you can also go through to simply disable each file (yes this will take a few minutes) but then you can take your time slowly configuring them one by one, and only enable them again after they have been adjusted to your liking. Or similarly you could just remove the plugin, work on the files, then upload the plugin again once you've replaced the files with your adjusted configurations. Just a few things to consider.

Hello, can I turn off npc can raid and npc protect airdrop? So independent of the others? That there are only npc's at monuments.

Yes you can enable or disable any NPCs that you want to. Just go to that file in the data folder and disable it. (enabled?: false) Once you've done that just reload the plugin and they will not be active.

I'm not sure which NPCs you're referring to here though to be honest. Would need to clarify what you mean by the "Npc can raid".

Just don't give them weapons that allow them to raid and you won't have to worry about it. Also if you don't add them to places where they would be near player bases then you also wouldn't have to worry about this.

It is merely an option.

BotReSpawn and BetterNpc do most of the same things. Plugins like that can sometimes be made to work together but without any context of what you are trying to do all I can ask is why do you have two plugins that do the same things? Plugins that are spawning NPCs end up using similar or same code in the game and conflict with each other. This is only ever solved if the developers get feedback and context to the issues.

The creator doesn't speak English without using a translator so that is one of the many reasons you are talking to me instead. I assure you that the developer gets feedback, suggestions, and is called upon when needed. Generally that doesn't happen but it does when it is needed. We need context and details for that to happen.

Sorry that you are frustrated, and having a hard time. I am here to help and the Developer is as well.

I also tried to get a response in anyway I could for exactly the same reason. I got 0 response and unfortunately  0 support and also gave up on this plugin and all the event plugins I purchased. Little over a hundred dollars in plugins I can't even use.

Where exactly have you tried to get a response or support? What is the exact same reason that you are referring to? Context helps a lot.

Running a server does require work. So when I hear that people have given up and want to express that they paid money, all I can say is that I'm not sure who told you that this is easy and manages itself, but it is work, especially if you want your server to stand out and be successful. Regardless of the fact that they are paid plugins there is some work that you need to do to install them, or customize them to your liking. if somebody buys a computer desk that requires assembly, how often do you think people go back to the store and demand a refund because it doesn't build itself? Not very often, and of those few instances that they do, I guarantee you they won't get a refund based on that complaint.

I provide support for KpucTaJl's plugins for the past several months, on every site they are sold, on every Discord involved including the Mad Mapper Discord, as well as get direct messages regularly seeking support or asking questions. The person you are quoting just wasn't getting an answer they liked. It's that simple. I answered them in every single place that they made the same suggestion of ripping off another developers work or taking it to rewrite it. Not liking an answer doesn't equate to not getting support. So if you're going to make a claim I hope you are ready to back it up because I am everywhere and anyone who knows my name will back that claim up. That being said support doesn't mean we are going to back down or change our mind when people decide to be rude or just go to another site and ask the same question that was already answered.

If you truly have issues and need support, you have but to ask and you will receive it. A little respect goes a long way but I help even rude people on a regular basis because yes, if you paid for the plugin then you are a customer and I am cool with providing support and help even when people don't ask nicely. What I don't ever do is just ignore people even if I really want to. So if you need support, just ask.

I have a few problems:

 

1.) Some of my NPCs aren’t attacking anyone. They just run up to them, then nothing happens. 
 

2.) On a second server I have another plug-in called NPC Raiders and this loaded however seems like BetterNpc is over rewriting NPC Raiders, is there a way to change this? 
 

4.) Some of my NPCs glitch out when changing their outfits, seems like I only have this problem as there are other servers with this plug-in and crazy outfits. Some even riding horses and nothing is wrong with them. I give someone a bone knife and they just don’t do anything anymore. 
 

5.) Eventhough I set a monument to false  the Plug-in erases the default scientist NPCs and they don’t come back. 

for example, I do not enable BetterNpc at giant excavator, set replace npc to false however the scientist are still gone.

Just posting one time will be sufficient. I assure you we will reply. But I will reply in the other places this has been posted as well.

The first think that I will ask is that you reload the plugin, and share the console response. It will show all of the files loading and give other details as well potentially.

oxide.reload BetterNpc

1) These are BetterNpc NPCs? Can you give details on which ones, and what their loadouts are?

2) Confirm you have the most up to date versions of NpcSpawn, the core plugin for BetterNpc, and the NPC Raiders plugin. There should not be any issues with that plugin as this was addressed a short time ago.

3) You have no #3 😉

4) You would have to be more specific on what glitch out means. There should be no issue customizing their outfits. As far as riding horses that's definitely another plugin. But customizing their weapons outfits and all of their stats should not ever be a problem. I could confirm that bone knives work, but they should, as I don't know of any other melee weapon that does not work.

5) So you have the plugin set as below? If so there should not be an issue here. I assume you've also reloaded the plugin since setting this. Some settings will work with the command where you reload the single file, but for a change like this you'll need to reload the whole plugin (not the server though).

  "Enabled? [true/false]": false,
  "The size of the monument": "(60.0, 1.0, 60.0)",
  "Remove other NPCs? [true/false]": false,

I got an email from codefling telling me that a developer responding after 22hrs is considered quick. This platform is not for quick support. I say no more, but i purchase only plugins here if I am 100% sure that i don't need help... or if i don't find it elsewere. Maybe because i am Swiss and business here is different... but i don't give 130$ to a developer... and then have to wait a day or two for a response. Cmon... my server lost 3/4 of the players because it had an issue for 3hrs (my fault)... I don’t think youre cut out to be a server admin. Every month without fail for as long as I can remember FP break something with the monthly update. As admin you have to expect that and fix it. This plugin IS Ready to go out of the box. If you want to tweak alter or change some aspects to suit your server more then do it. Every plugin needs configuring. So what if you had to wait a few days for support. Ive been waiting for 2 months for another DEV to fix there shite plugin. If I won Euromillions and bough myself a F1 race car, who should I complain to when I don’t win next seasons championship? NO ONE, because first I’d have to learn how to drive it correctly. the same goes for rust plugins. if you need help then ask for it but don’t burst into tears because someone hasn’t responded to you within the hour.

I don’t think youre cut out to be a plugin developer for rust servers.. or for business at all... but i am 100% sure that i am wrong because i don't know you... this is the difference here. if you can't admit that a day or two is a little to mutch for a customer to have a response... i don't know what i can say... you are attacking me because I say the truth? You don't even know what i can do or not... you only know that I am lazy. I am to old for this, think what you want and respond to your customers in a year, its not my business.

I don’t think youre cut out to be a plugin developer for rust servers  youre 100 percent correct im just a rust server admin . perhaps you had problems reading my post.

I appreciate the honesty. You have unrealistic expectations in my opinion but as long as you can understand your faults along the way then I can at least reason and debate with you. I do think you have unrealistic expectations of support, for mods, for a video game. This is not a full time hourly job that people get paid to do. I in fact am not even the developer I just provide support for him because of how many questions, in many different places, he gets about his plugin. Waiting a day or two for a response is completely reasonable. Some developers take not only days but sometimes weeks to reply or fix something to be honest.

Some valid points being made but no need to be disrespectful. I think there are simpler more relatable examples and metaphors as well.

They did not need to be rude so I agree with you there but nobody is going to tell you that a day or two is entirely reasonable for a customer to have a response. This is a one time payment for a plugin that you share with your entire community, anyone who joins gets to share in its use. So the price is fair in that regard and since it is reasonable and expected that many servers are just trying to make some money, and do quite well in this regard. Servers that have stores set up can cover the cost quite easily enough. But as far as the time it takes to respond, are you paying a subscription fee? Are you paying for continued support? No you are paying for the file, and you should look for the best place to get the quickest response, which would be the Mad Mapper Discord in this case. Otherwise yes for the many other Discords, websites, forums, you should very well expect that there is nobody just sitting there waiting for issues and having nothing else to do with their time then to reply, immediately.

Let the plugin developer or their support (me) reply though and you won't get mistaken for a developer or anything else. I get confused as the developer constantly because I provide support for him. Just a thought though.

Point taken but be patient and take responsibility yourself as well. There is no place anywhere that says that you will get immediate responses. I am probably helping this developer to have some of the quickest turnaround possible and still it doesn't seem enough in an instance like this, which can really deter wanting to try to stay on top of things. Ensure you are able to manage your servers and put the work in yourself on your end, it shouldn't be a problem to communicate to your community what's going on or that something is being worked on.

Any chance of adding Npc Random Raids support?


Currently, BetterNpc deletes Random Raid's npcs immediately after they're spawned. Unloading BetterNpc allows them to spawn correctly.

It also seems quite random on where it will delete the npc's, This base will get the npc's deleted, but this one right next to it, in a river, works just fine. Tried it further/closer to monuments, next to cliffs/mountains, just seems random when they get deleted to be honest.

And to be clear, they ARE spawning. BetterNpc is just deleting them immediately afterwards.

If anyone else is using Npc Random Raids with BetterNpc you have to add "RandomRaiders" to BetterNpc's config file.

Yes there is actually a plugin on this site that will restart plugins after the server has booted. Search for that it is very simple to use for this and works as intended.

thats not working... The reason why i ask it.... when server reboot, npc raidable bases spawning a base with auto turrets.... and i using better npc plugin to protect it, couse they just better...  so whats happening when better npc and raidable base spawn together.... turrest killing betternpc spawned npc... if raidable bases load first, then better npc later then no issues... so thisis only one reason why i wish to have setting in better npc for delay npc spwan after better npc reloading. for example:

Delay npc spawn plugin load/reload?: "true"

Delay time in seconds: "300"
