Yes there is a config option in the core plugin NpcSpawn.

CanTargetOtherNpc set this to True in the plugin (cs) file.

Would it be possible to add the ability to automatically write more than 1 npc type automatically to data file? ie if used command /SpawnPointAddPos 2 {name} it would add this to the the data file without having to be manually added. thanks

We can revisit this idea. Currently adding additional presets then reloading is the way to go about this.

What problems are you running into, and what options are you using the configs to achieve this?

When reloading the plugin especially in the detailed config option, it will point out any errors or issues it runs into.

I got a question about line "Run debug.puzzlereset command when the plugin is loaded or reloaded to refresh IO, puzzle, NPCs at Facepunch Monuments [true/false]": true,

I mentioned oil rig key card doors stay all the time open, they close only when server reboot and better npc plugin use this line...

There possible to dont have this line at all in result to make oil rig puzzle doors work as suppose to ?

This is running the command on the server already. If there are still issues with the doors the rig may be outside of the map bounds which is the only consistent thing I have found that is in common with others who have the same issue. The command is one of the only things I am aware of that could possibly do this. So if you have the plugin run the command then it might work. You can also run that command any time in console to test it yourself.

This line was only added recently and you can set it to false if you think that it may have any interaction to test that as well.

I thought about adding the following to my copy, but thought many people may want this feature. So I am suggesting the following.

Add a few settings or a table of multipliers to the config to enable changing the NPC spawn counts based on pop.

for example settings could be a simple

Multiplier : Pop

"0.75" : 25,

"0.5" : 50,

"0.25" : 100

so when population on the server hits 25 players the min and max Bots is multiplied by .75 

This way as population increases we get less bots on the server and as pop drops we get more. Make sense?

Has anyone managed to get this working on carbon? I just made the switch and I am sad to say that I can't seem to get this mod to show up :/

Just in case this doesn't get noticed or responded two fast enough, I would say the Mad Mapper Discord would be my first suggested stop and otherwise the Carbon Discord would be a good stop or resource as well to ask this. The Discussion tabs on the site are not usually terribly busy, steady but not busy if that makes sense.

Have you tried /SpawnPointReload Launch Site in chat?

Also, if you're running oxide you can use oxide.reload BetterNpc in the console to reload the plugin. If your server is live, I find it better to only reload the spawn point you are having issues with. You can find the names in the betternpc data folder.

hes been doing it for days now my friend build next to launch site and he tells me everytime he starts rocketing again ^^

i reloaded betternpc multiple times with no success, ill try to get this guy of the platform somehow

Thank you for that last message, I was going to ask but did not want to assume.

From the sound of it somehow they were able to build close enough to launch to be within the attack distance given by the config option for this NPC is allowing him to target the base that he can see or defensive item and attack it.

I can help you remove that specific NPC, I can also help explain where to look for parameters to change for them, or rocket launchers can simply be removed.

I'd recommend coming to the Mad Mapper Discord and create a ticket there.

Reloading a specific profile will work for some changes, but changes that occur outside of commands generally will not reload and will require a whole plugin reload. So if you manually are changing things in the config, this command will not help.

Thank you for sharing though because it is helpful if you are making other changes instead and reloading the profile for those smaller changes. this is perfect.

This was what helped me sort it out. They are attacking their building by being within the NPC's sight. If you don't mind creating a ticket in Mad Mappers Discord we could sort this out no problem, there's a few ways to do it too. Can remove that guy completely, take the launchers away, change the distance he can attack from. If you want to give it a go any of those options will work.

is it possible to configure npc to use melee and when the player is not reachable to use an eoka and molotov ?

I want am I doing wrong I got the NPCs to spawn on the server but not doing any damage to the  players

It becomes complicated enough with how you should configure each (in my opinion, properly) that really the best option is to use different presets intended to do different things. Their AI might get improvements in the future that will help with what you're referring to but currently it's just so much easier to mix enemies up whenever possible. They are usually going to use guns when you give them the choice, I mean, wouldn't you?

when plugin loads it takes up a lot of resources loading all the files and yes I did go through all the files and disabled the ones i didn't want to use bots from..

but somehow simple it down on focus of a couple files like the events and touch nothing else?

I would also love this, as it's very time consuming going in and changing it manually.

We always collect and consider stuff like this. Only issue with those types of issues is it also requires wiping all config and data files since it would be changing the format, so that has to be taken into consideration and there was a large update not long ago. Still anything's possible if it makes enough sense and is popular enough. Just bringing that up for something to consider about some changes like that. It may be nice for a handful of people but then many that go to update and have had a lot of customization to their files are going to enjoy it much less haha.
