hello can you add a marker for the super animals? as well as maybe we can give a rewards like RP or economics or whatever so players will hunt them for sport thank you!

thank you to be clear when i say market maybe have them have a different color or something a map mark is not necessary. i'm thinking of them as boss wild npcs thank you.

I'm keen on using this too but players need to be able to tell the difference between a normal animal and an alpha so they can avoid them if they don't want to fight it.  I used BackToTheWild and got exactly that complaint from players (can't tell which is which).  Would it be possible to make them identifiable in some way (I've seen a plugin - Car Radios - attach a radio to a horses head, so possibly attach glowing eyes or something else?)  Shame we can't make them bigger (there's entityscalemanager but I don't think animals can be scaled?)

Back to the wild makes their hp random just like normal animals are stronger or weaker.
You can give them the perm to show the gametip that it is a Alpha or Omega animal.
Like giving them a different color is not possible since there is nothing to skin them with..
with back of the wild they complain that they cant see if it is stronger or weaker then the vanilla animals ?
If so i could add that same gametip permission system to that with a configurable minimum and max setting

Thanks, just testing out the Alpha Animals plugin and I like that I can see the markers (and only by permission) so that I can get an idea for how many there are across the map. 

I like the idea of the engagement tip but by the time you've attacked the creature, it may be a little too late. 

I know the car radio plugin attaches radios to horse heads so maybe attaching something more discreet to the alpha animals (not sure, but things like wooden spikes placed correctly would look interesting) or vfx (like fire) if it can be attached.  I think boss monster makes a mob that spawns fire around itself, that could also be an option (depending on performance).

Also, would it be possible to set a chance that the alpha animal calls for backup help when it gets to low health, rather than just dead?

as serverowner i know players are lazy sobs and it is the risk of not knowing your targets health that makes it interesting.
The Mapmarker system that i added can help them determin if they really want to engage to the Alpha for now.
Attaching anything to animals will have impact to its surroundings and drop fps for the player  but the suggestion can be tested out.
Same for HealthTresholds which does sound like fun 🙂

Yeah, the random health is what attracted me to BackToTheWild - I prefer to leave any markers off for the standard animals as I love surprising the players, especially when they think they know exactly how many bullets it takes to take down a bear then it's still standing 🙂  

The alphas however are a bit too much of a shock (with a huge amount more health and attack) if they can't tell that somethings different 🙂  I don't mind a bit of a performance hit (could be an optional config setting) and shouldn't be too bad as there aren't a lot of alpha animals across the map.  If you do manage to get something attaching to the mobs it could perhaps be config item for the prefab and location/rotation so we can experiment?

i tested it on horses using different prefabs and they all have a different rotation and offset.
animal vs player distance checks giving a message is also an option i could test.
Horses are slow movers vs the bears wolves and polarbears so the attached prefabs sometimes dissapear

Ah, a shame the prefabs disappear.  Another idea (not sure if it works on moving objects) is what AdminRadar or GlobalStorage (both on umod) do - hovering text over the item (alpha animal) or iqfestivalevents utilises the Christmas event "sparkle" effect around prefabs.

Actually, I just saw DeathEffects on here, by imthenewguy, and looks like it's possible to do a lot of effects on death.  I presume it would be possible to do the same for a living Alpha animal with the effects persisting or repeating on interval (don't need hundreds of effects as an option - just pointing out the plugin as inspiration on possibilities :))  May be even more effects in new staging branch - I've seen dust storm, rain and snow fx in RustEdit, I wonder if it would be possible to spawn one of these on an animal and have it follow it around.

i do deatheffects on allot of my npc animal plugins so thats nothing new
still working out the parent entity for the fx

Hello 🙂 first things first: my husband and i are running a pve server and we love the back to the wild and alpha animal plugin 🙂  We just have one question: is it possible to set the omega animals that they won`t spawn directly on your position? We can`t find a setting for this. The omeags instantly wounds or kill the player, cause they spawn directly on them. Thank you for your answer :)

I have your exact problem, that makes the plugin pretty useless, as long as people get one-shotted this way

Is there anyway to add it so when you kill one, the others don't spawn on top of the player? Yes we can set the spawn to 1 but where's the fun in that

Yes please to this ^ !

On another note...

Unless I am missing something, I cannot get the map markers removed from the map.

 

    "Show to all? (true/false)": false,
    "Show Animals on map? (true/false)": false

The marker permission is also Revoked for all groups.

Suggestion: Since we have Alpha and Omega, why not add Sigma animals (including chickens and boars) that are buffed like the Alpha but revive X number of times rather than calling their bros? It would look hilarious to see map markers for "Sigma Chicken". Maybe the sigma should have a loot drop proportional to the number of times it is killed. What do you think?

Hey Krungh Crow,

Love this plugin (as I love all of your plugins tbh) !

Would it be possible to let us rename the Alpha Animal names ? Maybe the config already exists but I didn't find it. I would like to change the name for all alphas of a given animal (not individual names, the same name for all alphas of a given animal); like for example replace "Alpha Wolf" by "The Big Bad Wolf".

Thanks again for your hard work on all these amazing plugins !

map markers might be a little buggy (reload can fix that)
the plugin cfg should have a set amount of animals to be changed and will change any new spawns after plugin has initiated
