  1. Yikes. Man, this was a bit of a dirty move don't you think? I'm all about supporting people that take the time to make plugins for everyone to use. Between this site, Chaos and Lone i've spent hundreds of dollars on plugins and assets. And i get that reworking a plugin all about NPCs when they changed a lot of the AI backend is probably a lot of work.... but It's clear what you have done here. It appears that you worked on the update for BotSpawn leading up to the patch and purposely dropped it at a price tag of $40 just after the patch was released. You knew people that rely on this plugin for the type of game play they have set up on their server would be desperate for an update and would toss the $40 your way. I agree that BotSpawn is a great plugin and should be premium status and not free. But dropping a new version for such a high price on the day of the update with no pre-warning is a bad look. I hope you understand.

  3. Im all for supporting but why was this dropped right at an update rendering thousands of servers broken and held hostage unless we buy the updated version now? I need time to test it on test server, reconfigure etc. Can you please give a final update to the other plugin so we can transition smoother? The start of this wipe is ruined now cause players do not have any challenge and that sucks.

  6. Be honest it's about time, this plugin should have never been free, it's such a good plugin and the developer is always keeping it updated ! I could never understand why it was free, i guess because it started out on Umod, anyways i support this 100% thanks Steenamaroo! He's been giving this plugin away for years don't complain!

  7. 4hrs of fiddling with this plugin to sort loot profiles for easy convoy. got nowhere, loot wont populate. Just going round and round with this structure, alphaloot is not recognising the prefabs and is populating its own configurations. At this point im just going to remove all plugins that require using this plugin. Its not helpful for me at all, i dont have time to go back and forth between screens on a gui. Its a no from me!

  9. @Mr01sam OCTOBER 3 FIX UPDATE?
    9 points
  10. wow, way to be dramatic and entitled. As you can see he added the metal skin, and last update was just a few weeks ago. It's a free plug in, and some people have jobs and lives. He will get to it. Go outside for a bit, it's nice out there. Calling someone a bad dev because he didn't jump when you said jump is a terrible way to approach life. Be grateful for the two existing building skins for free, and have patience for the new one.

  11. No one is forcing anyone to purchase a plugin. Just be glad that you have had 4 1/2 years of a free plugin while it worked.

  12. I am making progress but I am still having issues with NPCS not spawning on the navmesh. so at this point I will release an update without npcs enabled, and another update once they are working properly. i'd appreciate anyone who answers this question for those who do not read this message or the update notes

  13. My plan was always to keep BotSpawn.cs available and free. The fact that BotSpawn.cs no longer works is due to FacePunch recent decision to remove older AI assets and code, which is out of my control - I only found out about that this week. It's a shame, and people will misread it, but that's how it worked out. This rewrite was always going to be charged for, and has plans for future development/expansion.

  15. 100% agree. This should be optional and shouldn't be a dependency. I hope the Mad Mappers team see that it wasn't a good change and revert back.

  16. Hey everyone just a quick update. Ive been packing some new features into this update that I think you are all going to really enjoy, I personally am not a fan of the sudden removal of game accepted skins so there will be options I'm adding to skinner that will hopefully help smooth things over for your player base. I don't want to go into too much detail into the extra features side, however currently in the update I have new options for removing all FP accepted skins/dlcs, automatic filtering for imported skins and commands to remove imported skins as well. If anyone has questions feel free to dm me or discuss in my discord. https://discord.gg/cobaltstudios

  18. Map markers were changed by Facepunch and don't show the text on hovering anymore. you have to click the map marker to see the text, and it's clipped partially. we're asking Facepunch about this to see if they can fix it

  19. Very interesting comment. The sentiment you have conveyed doesn't appear to be well thought out. The game developers are able to charge the low price that they do because they are able to achieve mass sales to still make a profit. Plugins, unlike games, are not purchased by the players of the game, but by server owners, which are a small percentage of the community, so the number of sales will be a tiny fraction of the sales of the game. Plugins can also generate profit in the form of player traffic, donations and buyable perks, eventually paying for themselves and then some. Therefore, it does not make sense to compare the price of the game and server side plugins. This plugin actually cost me over 10k USD to build, and I am unlikely to ever receive a full return. Overall, I consider this plugin to be a donation to the community, and the majority of the sales I receive on this plugin are designated to be donated back to open source developers in this community (full 100% after the first 6 months).

  20. As someone who was worked in commercial software development I have empathy, that many operators do not have. Do you realize all the Oxide APIs changed, require recoding the plugin because FP changed how NPC work (did you read the patch notes)? Do you realize the days that would take? Steen had a WIP new paid version of BotSpawn he has been working on for many months. It was easier to fix that version, than spending days fixing the old one. Steen owes you NOTHING since BotSpawn was a free plugin. He gave you years of a excellent plugin with excellent support for free. Developers always have the choice to move to paid. So either buy the new one, or patch the old one yourself... If you read the API changes you would realize this is not some easy fix he is avoiding to force you to the paid one. Steen decided not to spend more time on the outdated free version and accelerate the paid on. Fair enough. $40 is a high price, but still a fair price for the hours of enjoyment it gives my players. I immediately bought it as I saw the value in it.

  21. @Whispers88 could you please add a option to "remove" / "hide" or deactivate **all** official skins from the plugin? this would help a lot to avoid using skins that get accepted after we added it to the data. in best case, you could also allow players that own a specific official skin to make them being usable in the skin menu.

  23. As long as the conversation remains respectful all opinions and comments are valid, and helpful. There is an expectation that submitted content will be supported and maintained however we do understand that people's circumstances can change and that's not always going to be possible. We're also aware that content creators may not always be in a position to let us know they'll be absent for X days, or weeks, or whatever. The discussion around this has made it clear that this is a popular enough plugin and that a lot of people would like to see it working so my understanding is that it will be fixed/maintained, for now, by a willing developer. Hopefully the original author, Marat, will be willing and able to return at some point.

  27. I agree with most of these posts @Steenamaroo.. I know its a pain in the ass to recode things, but to drop support like this is messed up. I use a few of your plugins and think you do some great work, but this impacts our servers and our communities. I have no problem buying your new plugin but it will take time to code and set spawns ETC.. it makes us server operators look bad and affects the players... Not cool. And honestly if you knew about it this week you could have told us..

  28. This entire website popularity is all because of BotSpawn. It was a plugin outlawed/removed from Umod therefore steeno made his own plugin hosting website. There would be ZERO people on codefling if it wasnt for botspawn. The people who supported him, his plugins, codefling, etc over the years deserves MUCH better than just being told to buy a $40 plugin 50mins after forced wipe broke the previous one. Honestly it will be the last time I buy a plugin from this website and I will look for alternative sources for the same plugins if they are on other shops from now on. This was super dirty.

  29. Or he is just trying to get it all fixed up? 2 updates in last 12 hrs or so is hardly doing nothing. KpucTaJI has been here for years and has always stood behind his plug ins. When needed updated in a timely fashion. Seems like he wanted to do a major update and it didnt go perfect. Mind you it would have been FREE for current customers. Maybe instead of name calling and being all derogatory one should just give him the benefit of the doubt.

  33. Thank you for the feedback. The renewal fee was introduced as a way to deter piracy, especially after one of my custom projects was recently pirated. This decision was made with the intent of protecting my work. The renewal has nothing to do with a lack of commitment to supporting my work. Quite the opposite - I want to continue creating plugins and building a small, collaborative community around them. I have always supported my other products and helped others, and I will continue to do so. If you are curious what kind of developer I am, feel free to read the reviews of my other products on codefling, one is even from a person who commented above. Thank you again for the feedback. It is invaluable to me, especially when given respectfully. I have removed the renewal fee.

  34. seems kinda like you ripped off someone elses work that's giving it away free and you're trying to make a buck off it. Sorry but that's what it looks like. https://umod.org/plugins/admin-radar This is the @nivex plugin. He's a well know dev and highly respected and he offers this free. Maybe I'm wrong about something here but it sure seems suspicious.

  37. Some plugins are expensive. Some are cheap, some are free. In this case, you get what you pay for and more. This is one of the best plugins on the site in increasing player interactions, especially on PvE servers. I would not hesitate to buy it again, and recommend it to others.

  39. @Kannix Bindoof heya. I never reset the config or profiles. I add or remove individual settings only. sometimes the difficulty setting (first setting in each profile) gets reset after updating so make sure you check that. not sure why that happens since I never change it. you should always backup your files before updating any plugin though. 2.8.5 is released and requires the Rust update to compile. enjoy everyone

  45. hey cool plugin, some of my players like it a lot too, some are too scared too try it lol. Suggestion: Allow the players to cancel the raid at a cost (that can be configured by admin) Say player initiates raid and things get out of hand too quickly, they can type a command and for ~100 scrap they can cancel the raid.
