I did have a server restart shortly afterwards and didn't hear about any issues until after that, but that doesn't mean much. I'll see if I can reproduce it on my test server later, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just certain stacks that had been messed with between the plugin upgrade and the restart. Thanks for the suggestion.

Pls verify your stack sizes set for resource items aren't set at 8 as well.

Also I added a config toggle to disable the 
Industrial Conveyor Patch so if you do have a problem with it please disabled it inside the config save the config and reload the plugin & it will remove the Industrial Conveyor Patchs.

just installed 2.5.2 and from the first looks of it the conveyors are pushing things into the furnaces and refineries as expected. 

Had to change this from false to true in the config to make it working. 

"Disable Industrial Conveyor Patch (true = disabled)": true

Both RoadBradley & HeliSignals have failed display name checks. Or intentionally set them & as a result they won't stack with actual vanilla loot items from shops / other loot containers.

The Heli signals is not a big problem, pumpkins, corn, ore piles with ore nodes, bullits etc are.
Some stack in the box after logging out logging in others never stack.
Some stack if you divide them before stacking them.
Stacking is behaving very weird at the moment.
The Question is if this can be fixt some how without all the plugin restrictions that we are able to use on our servers.
I understand that there can be conflicts between plugins, but you and other plugin creators must solve this, i just buy them and i don't have the knowledge to fix it myself

And i don't use any restricted plugins!

I ended up going back to 2.3.9 for now, but I did notice with 2.5.2 that some of the items that refuse to stack will stack if dropped on the ground. After you pick up the new stack, you can then put it in boxes and backpacks and it behaves properly. Not a solution but maybe a workaround that can be mentioned to your players.

Or like respond to your support tickets then we can get the stack issues sorted out.

You made support tickets and never responded to them, no matter how many times I did ( I responded 4 times on your last post ).
But you have to speak to me or like nothing is gonna get fixed for you.

 

Also, its not up to us to have 3rd party plugin support, majority of the issues are coming from codefling failing to review new plugins for improper code handling of stuff such as 'item creation' and ( 'item giving' not respecting the server stack sizes. )

They get paid to do that I don't yet I am constantly having to hunt down these plugins fix / report the issue to owners/devs.

All because they don't stack for you.
 

I do my best to reach out to problem plugin devs to let them know how to fix there works and work with them.

But I have no control over if they do the fixes in their works or not.

So in the end I am not to blame for anything, I've been doing my best to try and help you watcher but you don't even respond to your own support tickets so you make it impossible.

It seems that there are two ways to handle stacking that are primarily used. 1 dev will tell you it's one way and another will tell you it's another. there should be a write-up or a global explanation of why it needs to be one way or the other that everyone can refer to.

@Khan you keep deleting our messages here almost every time we post an issue. You should really get to the bottom of fixing the stacking issue. I am staying on v 2.4.3 because any version after that is causing more and more issues which I have posted here but you just deleted all my messages.  You also start blaming the other plugins such as HeliSignals that they somehow started causing issues with stacks right after some magical coincidence after you started releasing version updates to StackModifier. lolz

One issue is Theres multiple ways to handle stacks, some plugins devs decided there plugin should handle stacks, Some devs add a option for the plugin to handle the stack True or False. Plugins that handle there own stacking usually conflict with stack plugins.

Another issue is some devs are set on using one set of code and some are determined to use another. so issues are going to keep happening until everyone is on the same page.

A good example is the plugin Bone Market

Id love to use it but it just uses the other style of stacking and Crow is set that his method is better. bur 99% of my plugins recommend I use Stack Modifier so I'm not willingso sacrifice everything just to have bone market work

Hey Khan, Ive a great respect for you and all other plugin creators and their work!
You mentioned the support tickets: I just let you know there that theres console spam.
Most of the time the plugin is still working but the spam shows that something isn't ok, i don't know what, thats why i send it to you.
Ive a busy server so ive not the possibility to remove all plugins and test your StackModifier .
Thats why i send it to you and hope that you know what is causing it.

Its not about blaming, its about buying a plugin what doesn't work like it shoot and asking the seller/creator for a fix, thats all i do.

My comment was also deleted, where the reason for the items not stacking was mentioned. I'm currently using the latest version, combined with older code from other versions, and so far everything is running smoothly. I haven't encountered any issues.

Originally, we thought the problem was with Carbon, but my tests have shown that it also exists with Oxide, and the developer is aware of this. "Discord PM" The developer explained that the code had to be changed because some items were being stacked that shouldn't be, and there were also configuration issues.

As mentioned by the developer, all developers should adapt their plugins or we should remove the plugins. Some customers have already informed me that they have switched plugins because the developer doesn't seem to understand the problem.

Everything worked fine for years, but then something was changed in CanStackItem, and suddenly the plugin is no longer compatible with others.

I've given up the conversation. In my opinion, the plugin has now been made practically unusable for modded servers with custom items. I fixed the version myself, and so far, our players haven't encountered any problems.

Nevertheless, this plugin is one of the best on the market.

The reason comments get hidden is usually because I want you to make support tickets and respond to them instead of creating a bunch of spam on the discussion thread.

Everyone has completely different stack bugs it would seem, so a fix for one owner is not the same for another.

I like to keep this area open for stuff like suggestions, features or general discussion.

I don't like to see comments with just error codes posted, doesn't help anything without any context and I don't want people thinking its okie to use older versions because they'll never get their servers fixed in the long run.

I'm sorry if doing so made that confusing.

I noticed that stacks are working if they come from the same sources.
Example:
If ive pumpkins in my inv from my own farm the ones i picked up from the river side doesn't stack with them.
They only stack with other river side picked up pumpkins..
And the farmed ones stack with the farmed ones.
Maybe this information will help a bit.

@Watcher Yes, it does I will take a look at this on my test server here in about an hour when I get back & see if I can experience the same bug.

I will build a farm and try seeing if corn / pumpkins stack with home grown ones to river-side ones.

After a couple of days running with the 2.5.4 update, I can say that it fixed the stacking issues we were seeing. Thank you!

There may be a new issue with item condition being reset to 100% in some cases now, but I'll open a support request for that.

hey, im having some issues.
The UI wont come up at all. I type in the command into the chat and it dissapears but nothing happens, any help would be amazing 🙂

You need to have the permission to use the UI / commands. Called stackmodifier.admin did you make sure to grant that to your self?

I will look at this when I am home and can get to the computer to make changes to this if needed. I think I added that so the people who wanted to add custom items to their loot tables with custom names could do so. But unless people are putting incorrect vanilla names I fail to see how it’s preventing stacking with vanilla items. But I can put a check in to only alter the name if a custom name is provided and update my documentation if needed.

You haven’t reached out to me to mention this issue, if you had I would have looked into it. I get what you are saying about not having to do work for third party plugins, but a quick DM and we could have sorted this.

It works both ways, I have reached out to you ages ago about your incorrect usage of the CanCombineDroppedItem hook, which after many, many updates you still haven’t corrected and incorrectly return false from a hook which should return type object, not boolean, so should only ever return true or null. This causes conflicts with every plugin which uses that hook correctly.

I DM’d you about it, then after no reply opened a support thread here: https://umod.org/community/stack-modifier/52770-cancombinedroppeditem-conflict-return-error

But you have not replied to that thread either.

If you have any issues in the future with any of my plugins, just reach out to me and we can discuss and sort them easily, as other devs have done and as I have to other devs.
