Thats cool - It was a previous version before 1.2.1 that also moved. So its fixed in 1.2.3?

skilltree xp bar moves because other players are also moving it - definitely not locked to players

made this video for you to watch because this is definitely not locked to players its server wide. I wont upgrade unless I know for sure this is addressed in 1.2.3 because every time I update this plugin mid wipe it causes lag and issues with horses making it unplayable.

Yeah I think 1.2.2 handled it. Was part of the InstancedData bug from memory.

Wondering if this is supposed to happen.. When a player uses /movebar it moves all players on the servers XP bar position.

Cheers!

Should be no reason why that is happening. It is targeting the player data specifically.

what version was it when I called it out in the beginning of september?

1.2.0

It was an issue with a globally declared variable that was being used locally. If another player accessed the variable, then it would change for multiple people. Was also responsible for the rare skill point doubling bug.

i just started to notice this

If you enable the skill (instant Mining) you actually get less than you would if you just mined it normally.Think it just makes the node go away and doesnt bother collecting to the end of the mine.So your losing out on a lot of resources.

Best to not waste 5 points on this skill

Yeah i figured out it wouldnt let me..... but thought i could try, since the skill i was trying  to place there was very powerful.
So it would be nice to be hard to unlock..... but row 3 is fine....

But is it possible to place my own skills on the 4th column? Or will that crash my plugin again?
Earlier there was only space for 3 colums....

About a month ago, an update was released that allows more skills per row. This was to allow us to create our own skills. You can have many many many columns now.

I think the only thing you can't do from what I've read (but I've not tested this), is you can't use the ultimate (4th) row. Again, I'm unsure about that, but what I do know is you can have many many columns.

Yeah I hate when you get flagged for too many requests to imgur.

Just tested on my server and it appears to be working fine. I imagine you have a number of plugins that request images from Imgur?

I am contemplating removing ImageLibrary as a requirement, as Facepunch allow us to cache images natively now, but it will involve creating a workshop item for each icon, which means adding custom ingredients/recipes etc becomes a step harder.

I have some news. I found out about imgur and what the issue is. So imgur has a rule where an IP can request 12,500 downloads per day. If an IP address hits this 5 times in a month then that IP address will become blacklisted.

My server has a shared IP address with it being just a common shared server host. Last night I worked with my provider to move my server to a new IP address, and my problem is fixed.

Either way, there is a way to fix this issue, but it's a nuclear option. It sucks moving a server to a new IP, if you have players that aren't a part of your Discord server etc, then you will most likely loose those players. So it's a fine edge between pros and cons.

If you're curious (or bored), you're welcome to read over this yourself. I've added the link and relevant quote here so you don't actually have to search for it.

Thanks for your time on this though,
Christopher.

https://api.imgur.com/#limits
Rate Limits

The Imgur API uses a credit allocation system to ensure fair distribution of capacity. Each application can allow approximately 1,250 uploads per day or approximately 12,500 requests per day. If the daily limit is hit five times in a month, then the app will be blocked for the rest of the month.

Great.... then i can move move some of my beginner skills to row 1 instead so new players can access them right away. instead of after 5/10 points spent

Thanks for answer.

I will look into moving the images to use steam workshop if it's possible.

It sounds like such a ball-ache from what you said. If there is anything I could do to help with that process, you're welcome to ask me. I can confirm though, that changing my IP fixed the issue. It's just if other people had the problem, I'm not too sure how happy they'd be to change theirs. This is a problem on the server side though, not on the plugin side.

Are there other hosting sites that exist that would work? This way if someone else was to encounter this issue, the owner may be able to manually change the URL to images manually that way? Would save you this nightmare of a job.

Cheers,
Christopher.

Ive done it.
Its a lot slower for the items being cached by the clients, but I believe they stay cached?

I actually had the files hosted on there to begin with, but my DropBox was having more issues than imgur for hosting. Was odd.

Idk if it's a good fit for SkillTree or not or how it impacts overhead, but the Defendable Bases plugin stores all of it's images on the actual server in a folder "Images" it never has any image issues since the plugin just accesses the files directly. I can still create my own images by creating them in photoshop or w/e and then saving them into that Images folder on my server. May be something worth looking into?

Yeah it involves adding the files to the server and shipping them with the plugin. You could realistically do it now, but it involves downloading the 100+ images, and adding them to the config. Might be something to look at in the future.

You can handle that with the "stresetskills" console command.

Disregard my last message, that resets all players skills LOL. I will add a command to reset the target players skills.

Hey, was wondering what the crafting xp formula is does it balance out when taking crafting speed because the xp drop seems to be more of a hinderance vs the speed boost like if you'd normally just go AFK.

Yeah idea behind it is that you don't use skills to get boosted xp rates by leveling them up (with the exclusion of barrel smasher - not much you can do there).

If players levelled up to instant craft, but still got the same xp as their original craft length, most would just level that up, obtain a metric ton of cloth and craft bandages, recycle, repeat for xp gains.
