This error comes from the unity engine not skinner its self. Its possible that you have a corrupt imported skin, but it could be anything...

I'm not sure why users would complain about having access to more skins... what are your Skin Import Settings in your config ? you may have to clear your PlayerUsageData file in data/skinner -

Its fixed now, It was required due to being published in a testing state initially.
