They are saved in a data file however player data is removed after inactivity via the config: Remove player data after inactivity (days) = 14;

Can you try the config option "Apply names of skins to skinned items": true, If this is already true link me some of the skins you are trying to add so i can test.

If the skin shows by search it should be on one of the display pages. Any chance you can send me your config? You can change the UI scaling setting on the client side but thats currently the limit for now unfortunately
