Question: How does the Thrifty Tinkerer perk (5/5 - 25% chance to return components on craft) in the Build Craft Skill Tree work?

I just crafted 100 explosives and received nothing back.

UPDATE:  after completing the last item it says "You received a refund on your last craft." and refunded 100% of the materials back to me, allowing me to create another 100 explosives.

UPDATE2: Used the 100% refunded materials to craft another 100 explosives, received 0 back.

Have implemented a fix for the refund issue doing it based on craft task, not per crafted item.

I can't see any developer hooks in the plugin, so probably not.

Covfefe, tried it, and it doesnt work due to the plugin incompatibility - would only work when the plugin enhanced hammer was turned off.

i have noticed the refund of a craft can get a bit buggy 
you get random stuf back or you get random extra's along with the original materials 

no respec in the tree

I was wondering if this plugin would work ok alongside gather manager and alpha loot as I will be running a 2x Gather/Loot server but would be interested in using this plugin too?

Had a quick look at gather manager and it seems to manipulate the yields the same way that my plugin does as well (cumulatively).
The way the the 2 would work would be that both base their modifiers on the default value, and add their additions over the top of it.

For example, you have a 2x modifier for gather manager, and a 100% yield increase from Skill tree, and would normally only receive 1000 wood (vanilla rates), you would receive 3000 wood with both modifiers applied.

 

Alpha loot I am not sure of. We stopped running it as we did not require it anymore.

The way my plugin applies the loot is to add an additional loot slot to the container once spawned. So long as Alpha loot doesn't clear the contents of the container, it SHOULD work, but I'm not too sure.

Worst case you can disable those buffs and replace them with more gather yield buffs etc.

Hi team,

After using the plugin for a couple weeks, I am getting a few complaints about horses not being properly rideable. The members of the team here have either no points into the horse speed, yet they are experiencing the additions of the horse speed, causing issues with turning, and the ones with points in riding speed, are experiencing latency and buggy turning radii. Turning the plugin off, seems to resolve the issue, but then turning it back on, the horses just seem to fail to thrive.

Anyone else having issues with horses + skill tree? (didnt want to put this under support to ensure there was proper conversation as I am not sure if its a bug or rust issue)

@RickJamesBitch Are you on the latest version of the plugin? We did experience similar issues until a few versions back when the horse buffs were patched and it seemed to clear up.

1.0.6 - I did testing with a few of the servers players watching my stream and they feel with the plugin on its breaking horses - didn't realize it was patched, as I only started using 1.0.5 and upgraded to 1.0.6 when it was released the same day. The turn radii for players on horses with it on, even with no buffs in the skill, is quite apparent. They lag and latency, and get stuck on the smallest hills, on flat areas and overall move quite buggy. With the plugin disabled, there are no issues with horses for players. Unsure what to say as the only plugin added to the server this month has been skill tree and it has not been without issues and we are patiently waiting for an update to 1.0nextversion.

 

Edit 2 - can you explain what the issues were with the old versions?

As far as I know the patch for horse riding was in 1.0.3:
 "Optimized OnEntityDismounted."
After this we no longer had the issue with players benefitting from a horse another player with the skill had ridden.
That being said, this plugin only increases the speed of a horse right? All the bugs that follow should theoretically be a direct result of the game not being designed to handle the outcome of high speed. I haven't had any issues with the plugin running and 0 buffs active though. That's an odd one. 
That being said, even on vanilla Rust I have definitely had horses get totally stuck on the tiniest of hills.. Can't say anything about the radii though!

When the plugin unloads, the horse stats are adjusted to their original values. The horse won't have its speed adjusted unless a player with the perks mounts it, in which case it will increase its speed.

 

I have added a config option in the next update to allow for the attributes to be selected, so you can only increase the horses run speed and not its turn and trot speeds when mounted.

Hello, by boosting Thrifty Tinkerer to max you have high chances of getting back all your components from the last craft, that include x999 gunpowder and even the rockets got refunded (198 explosives+40 pipes) which end up looking something like this.    can you add a blacklist in the config of things it will not return?

Also I added the black list in. Good idea!
