BotReSpawn 1.3.3

Im all for supporting but why was this dropped right at an update rendering thousands of servers broken and held hostage unless we buy the updated version now?  I need time to test it on test server, reconfigure etc. Can you please give a final update to the other plugin so we can transition smoother?  The start of this wipe is ruined now cause players do not have any challenge and that sucks.

Yikes. Man, this was a bit of a dirty move don't you think? 

I'm all about supporting people that take the time to make plugins for everyone to use. Between this site, Chaos and Lone i've spent hundreds of dollars on plugins and assets. And i get that reworking a plugin all about NPCs when they changed a lot of the AI backend is probably a lot of work.... but It's clear what you have done here. It appears that you worked on the update for BotSpawn leading up to the patch and purposely dropped it at a price tag of $40 just after the patch was released. You knew people that rely on this plugin for the type of game play they have set up on their server would be desperate for an update and would toss the $40 your way. 

I agree that BotSpawn is a great plugin and should be premium status and not free. But dropping a new version for such a high price on the day of the update with no pre-warning is a bad look. I hope you understand. 

Be honest it's about time, this plugin should have never been free, it's such a good plugin and the developer is always keeping it updated ! I could never understand why it was free, i guess because it started  out on Umod, anyways i support this 100% thanks Steenamaroo! He's been giving this plugin away for years don't complain!

Did you read his post, he was forced to release it, maybe out of his hands , I just think its unfair to be mad at him, he was trying, that's all!

This entire website popularity is all because of BotSpawn.  It was a plugin outlawed/removed from Umod therefore steeno made his own plugin hosting website.  There would be ZERO people on codefling if it wasnt for botspawn.  The people who supported him, his plugins, codefling, etc over the years deserves MUCH better than just being told to buy a $40 plugin 50mins after forced wipe broke the previous one.  Honestly it will be the last time I buy a plugin from this website and I will look for alternative sources for the same plugins if they are on other shops from now on.  This was super dirty.

I'm speechless.. After so much support and love, chucking the most used plugin behind a paywall really demotes me. Stuck with plugins that dont work now where i paid for.

Not a great move here steen. I'm really disappointed. 

I agree with most of these posts @Steenamaroo.. I know its a pain in the ass to recode things, but to drop support like this is messed up. I use a few of your plugins and think you do some great work, but this impacts our servers and our communities. I have no problem buying your new plugin but it will take time to code and set spawns ETC.. it makes us server operators look bad and affects the players... Not cool.

And honestly if you knew about it this week you could have told us..

Yeah, i was up late last night placing bots on a new map only to have it be redone today. the new plugin is much nicer, we just wanted a warning. now we're scrambling to get it up and running.

the issue isn't the price at all. i agree it should be a paid plugin. but dropping the ball AT WIPE is crazyness. a fair warning is all we're asking for.

pfft. Not gonna scramble. Will just take my time and make it work the way we want it.  Blame FacePunch, people. It's not like they are unaware of the mods.

If BMG has "fixed" a complete rewire then enjoy limited functionality because the old version is not "fixable"

he just mean the plugin no need to be entirely rewritten, and can help owners to have more time to buy the new version and run their servers tonoght with all their features

Because it was dropped on Steen at the last moment too... This has always been the plan to release a new version using the new AI system, However the removal of the old AI was dropped on us like a tonne of bricks with very little to no warning

If thats the case then why charge 40$ for it? Yeah I firmly believe the mod author deservers it but screwing everyone else for it is botched asf.

i dont get how steen screwed anyone over? regardless the orig botspawn wasnt going to work anymore after the facepunch update. so even if he said something 1 or 2 days ago, it wouldnt have mattered as it wasnt going to work anymore after the update

You don't understand how people people feel that way? Re-read the comment section bro. People are more upset they didn't have any previous knowledge before wipe this was transpiring. Most people like myself didn't find out until after wipe when the servers are failing to compile. At no point in the hours that lead up to this was anyone made aware of this, now all of sudden we have to pay 40 bucks. Not mad about the money, it is what it is but just dropping it on people as everyone is scrabbling to wipe their servers is screwed up fr fr. Even it was yesterday, we could still have prepared for it, Very poor execution.
