Hold up.
RustRewards only gives open rewards for container names that are already listed in the config, under RewardTypes > Open.

I can see having to set some entry to zero, but you shouldn't have to add new container names.

I now see the double lines for that item type (yours, and my haphazardly added one). I removed mine and changed the correct one.

 

As I said, crazy week for me with school, work, and maintaining the servers I have 😄

Add on to previous post... Here is a post from the Bag of Holding designer:

If Steenamaroo wants to provide better out-of-the-box compatibility in the Rust Rewards plugin, my suggestion is to ignore the loot bag item if it has a skin. This approach will also work for several other plugins that use skinned halloween loot bags and presents for special purposes (such as to run arbitrary commands when opened).

 

Not sure if the extra info matters or helps, but I figured I would mention his reply here.

To change icon use one of the icon plugins, that is out of scope for this plugin, I do not see a reason to reinvent the wheel.

Welcome rewards should only go to people with no entry in /oxide/data/RustReward.json  I sure hope you are not wiping it monthly as they will get the welcome reward again and you will reset this preferences.  That is how the plugin knows they are new.  It does not check their Server Reward or Economics balance to determine the welcome money.

For PVP kills there are a few settings to try to make exploiting harder:

"Player_Kill_Reward_Timeout": 0,
"TakeMoneyfromVictim": "false",
"UseClansPlugin": "false",
"UseFriendsPlugin": "true",

If you have issue with the plugin DM me in Discord with a copy of your config and the issue.  I will test to see if I can reproduce the issue or help you debug your configuration.

Harvesting berries is in there, but it is one rate for all berry types.

The message you quoted is from June '21. I took over the plugin and gave it a full rewrite in August after that.
That's not to say Mals won't still be happy to help you. 😛

What issue are you having?

Maybe you were thinking of PlayerRanks? If so, it has a config option - WipeOnNewMap - true/false.

List of players, I use it to give players some RP when they join after wipe. So returning players after wipe  do not get RP unless I manually remove data file.

I could add an option to clear player data but, to be honest, there are probably better ways to achieve what you want.
since this would clear the players' UI/notification preferences.

Am I right in thinking you want to reward only the players who have re-joined after wipe,
or that you want to reward everyone who joins but only once?

Either way, that would be a pretty easy standalone plugin to write.
I wouldn't mind sorting you out with something, if that's all it is.

Also, is it possible to add a list of "works with.../dependent on..." to the documentation on the Description page? For example, I want to use Server Rewards for my currency and am wondering, "does this replace the ServerRewards plugin on uMod or do I need both?"

The following is found in the description.

 

Reward Currency

  • UseScrap: true,
  • UseEconomics: false,
  • UseServerRewards: false
    • Chosen currency for rewards. Only one can be used at any one time.

 

Just switch the true false around but yes any of those 3 options are already compatible.

Hey there,

My rewards for Bradley are not working for some reason, out of the blue. I have one Bradley plugin I've been using since before RR and it never affected/conflicted with it. Any advice?

Hi,
I can't really think of anything obvious.
Maybe double check your settings to ensure bradley reward is still greater than 0, and that there are no multipliers of 0 in play?

Yeah, everything's set to 1x multiplier (default) and I have it set to 500 rp for a Bradley kill. I checked config and /rr in-game and they both match and say the same. Weirdness.

Would you mind console-spawning a bradley in front of you and killing that?
That should rule out any issue due to bradley ownership.

Hi,
No worries.
Not sure what you mean by points balance?
Rust Rewards can issue ServerRewards, Economics, or Scrap, but it doesn't keep track of totals or balances.
It just notifies you, at the time, if you earn a reward - if notification settings are enabled.

Players can choose their preferred notification type via the UI - Options are chat text, popup icon, or GUIAnnouncements (requires that plugin).

Sounds like there's some other plugin which does that? It might be ServerRewards plugin itself, but I don't really know it.

So I did what you said and for some reason, everything reverted back to default names. Is there something I'm missing?

That would probably happen if there was a mistake made when editing... a dropped comma or an extra quotation mark or something.

No matter what I do I -cannot- get RR to give points for Bradley kills. It just randomly stopped working one day - I didn't change anything. What is the best way to get support for this?

Are you using vanilla bradleys or modified ones using a plugin like Bradley Tiers? Some plugins allow you to set RP rewards within their config files.
