this is because of the TOS, that skins are not unlocked automatically.

This is a facepunch bug, they are aware of it. You can use this to patch the issue for now. ItemMoveRPCPatch.cs

As you can see, facepunch removed the functionallity necessary to make bright nights actually work. This is due to the lighting componenets no longer existing in the game. so its not possible at the moment to make nights brighter like it was previously.
