Before installing the new version (1.1.3), it is necessary to delete the date files and also delete all wagons on the server (For this you can use the console command clearallwagons)

Also is this going to get an update so they don't disappear half the time on restarts or every time the server is updated? 

Players get sick of losing them constantly still, lacking some good TLC

I'm trying to solve this problem, but so far I can't figure out what it depends on. Many people complain about it, but I can't reproduce it on my test server. If you could help me with this, I would really appreciate it.

When it happend to me that the trains dissspear

I notice me that the data file is then empty on restart

and when the save gettinng loaded on enforce spawn population i see that rust complains about to mutch wagons on the track and delete them

and when it works fine there is data in the date file

And dont get that with the loading the save

Is it posseble the plugin sometimes dont get time to write the info to the data file on restart?

I will try to reload the plugin before restart to force save the data to see if thats makes a diffrence

If you shut the server down, they disappear, if you update your server (patches after wipes) they disappear, if your server gets hung up or crashes they disappear, even sometimes on a regular restart they disappear. Any time this happens the data folder is wiped.  Make a train home and shut your server down. It won't be there after server is back up. They don't save properly. It's literally the only plugin I've ever had this issue with. 

My players have given up on them cause they've already to rebuild 4 times this wipe.

It seems that we have already had a dialogue on this topic. I can't solve your problem because your hosting is shutting down the server incorrectly. It simply deletes the process, which is why the plugin does not perform actions in the Unload hook. This leads to the fact that this file is empty and all wagons on the server disappear.

this is not happening anymore this was only when they were shutting them off to add palworld servers, and shutting the center down....

that was months ago.  I Uninstalled this plugin for a while, re added and its still jenky. read prior message as thats correct. 

Plus as you said A LOT of ppl have these issues, not just me..

I love the idea of this plugin, but I spent 8 hours making a train home for a video and it disappeared, and I was unable to get it back. I then spent 2 more hours building it again and, as I put a test generator down to charge up a battery, the test generator, the foundation under it, and the train home all disappeared. I really want to try again, but I need to find out what is wrong and correct it. Are there other plugins known to cause trouble for trainhomes? Are there any other known causes of trains disappearing while being built? Thanks.

I love the idea of this plugin and I want it to work, but I've had very frustrating problems with trains disappearing. I spent 10 hours building trains yesterday, 8 hours in the first one disappeared. Later that same day I tried again. Two hours later the train disappeared again. I can't be sure, but I suspect that it's possible that a Hammer mod is causing the problem(?) I'm no expert however. It's just a sneaking suspicion. I'm willing to help if I can. I'm attempting to make a video using this plugin and already have future plans for more videos featuring these train bases. Would someone building bases on your test server be helpful? Would you logging on to the server that I'm building on while I build be helpful? If so, let me know, I'm willing to help if I can. I also only work part time so I have a fairly open schedule.

It would be useful if you would send a video showing how the foundations with the wagon disappear due to the test generator (0_o?)

The way you place a base on the rails, can you also remove it from rails back to where you build it?

ok so do we need to keep that base we originALLY build on? once we move train to tracks

You need to use a detonator as well.

Dear jtedal,

We would be very grateful if you could take another look at your plugin and address the storage issue.
Currently, the plugin only saves during an unload, but not during a regular OnServerSave. If I manually unload the plugin before a restart, the wagons are reloaded properly on the next startup.

The issue seems to be related to the way the wagons are stored: Unload > WriteData > CreateData

For long-term usage with the same wagons, the plugin is currently not suitable, as it only works through manual unloading.
If the server freezes or crashes unexpectedly, all saved data is lost because .clear is used by CreateData in this case.

It would be fantastic if you, together with dev colleagues @Adem or @KpucTaJl, could review and resolve this save issue, so that the plugin can be used on PvE and PvP servers with multiple daily restarts.
The Plugin idea is great, and the trailer is really well done, but unfortunately, the plugin isn't yet suitable for long-term use.

Our server uses the Rust Restart Command for restarts. At 18:59, it saves all data and then unloads all plugins. 
We use Carbon. This issue is already known and has been reported times by several buyers.

Unfortunately, this plugin cannot be connected to the OnServerSave hook. Yes, you are right, the problem is old, but unfortunately there is no solution for it in such a plugin build.

I have already discussed this problem with Kpuc several times and we have come to the general opinion that in this case it is impossible to fix this problem

If you want a little understanding of why this cannot be done, then here it is: the whole problem is that before the plugin is unloaded, it does not just save some kind of data set, it puts the wagons in a special state so that after loading the plugin it can find and determine them

Then maybe lower the price of the plugin if it is always gonna be jenky and break players homes. If you know it had issues from day 1

Still waiting for the flasher light name to be changed to train home about a year later still...
