Thank you for making this. I've asked numerous devs if they could make something like this. And most I've gotten as a response is "That's a good idea." and nothing more.

This is something that FP should have just added themselves in the first place. These are they types of plugins I love. The ones that actually fix and improve the game.

Hi @Kaucsenta, nice plugin, but i found a problem, after broken, must take it off and put it on again to take effect? instead of immediately.
like hazmatsuit, radiation protection 50%, when its broken, radiation protection is still 50%, take it off and put it on, it change to 13%.
And, when its broken, its protection against damage remains the same.

Hello @thunder storm.

Thanks for the feedback. It seems you are right. I need to check the possibilities, but it really seems, this behavior is present with the normal pvp dmg->broken item too, so it may comming from Rust as bug by default.

I need to check this deeper and i will come back with hopefully solution or alternative. (Based on my quick check, the broken item can be deleted forever, but it will remove the possibility to repair the item later.)

Hello, great plugin.  Could you add support for the Ninja Suit and also Scientist & Heavy Scientist suits?

Hello @KingSizeKevin,

Only the items with durability can be supported, and all of what has are handled by this. The items without durabulity is not breakable.

Great plugin! Was curious is by chance in the future, could permissions be added? For the example of turning it off for some players though server store. Thank you.

Could we expand on the permission system?

I would like to create tiers for the Skills plugin. 

So it would have like permissions:

itemslostdurabilityonnpchit.protectplayer.1
itemslostdurabilityonnpchit.protectplayer.2
itemslostdurabilityonnpchit.protectplayer.3

And then the config file could have further expansion something like this.  Default would be applied globally and the permission tiers would overwrite the default settings once the permission is applied.

         "LongDurabilityPercent": 1.0,
         "MeleeDurabilityPercent": 0.75

Just an idea and of course implement the way you think is best!   This would be huge for PvE servers so we can pair it with the firearm modifier plugin.  Thank you for the consideration!

Does it apply incoming damage ONLY to the armour, until it's broken and then to the player?
If not, can it be made to do so (optionally of course)
Can it also when the item reaches 0 durability and breaks, have an option to auto eject the item?

Very interesting idea, I'll add to that. I want this.

[Damage to armor only with a chance.]

It would be better if it could be specified in the settings. Bone armor is very weak and not worth absorbing, but metal armor seems to play everything.

Hey, no, it is just make it possible, that finally the NPCs are able to break the items as well, not just he player based hit.

The item eject option is quite easy to add, but currently the item durability loss based on this plugin active, if an NPC was an originator, so if a player issued the dmg, it work with the original facepunch logic regarding the durability loss.

The damage negation or negation on chance is a bit bigger story. It can easily mess with the Truepve or other plugins to bother the dmg handling, i will check this question, but for first i would say, not that easy to add as described 😉, since not this was the original goal of this plugin.

Yeah, it does kinda alter the idea, but you've got a good base to build from. Armour breaking first before the player gets hurt just makes sense as a mechanic, but I get that it may be harder to balance than it seems. Especially if you want it so when i "shoot off" an player's helmet, it needs to be with a headshot. So you end up having to check each hit v body part as well, and since damage handling is then more or less taken over serverside by the plugin it may give issues with combatlog as well,  if you could pull it off it would be a programming feat indeed.

I suggest to open a support topic and collect the needs there, and we can see it can feasibly or not in the end. (The NPC hit didn't contain bodypart information, they just shoot without this information, that is one of the reason why the item didn't break in general normally without the plugin ... )

Can this still be added?  Like the Item Durability plugin?  Where we can have multiple permissions that represent the config option?  It would be very beneficial to PvE servers with /shop or /skills.

It is dropped out, not disappear, so it can be picked up afterwards.
