Subject: Suggestion: Implementation of a Skin Blacklist
Hi Whispers88, would it be possible to implement a blacklist feature for skins?

What should the blacklist do?
The blacklist would ensure that specific items with the listed Skin IDs are excluded from being modified through reskinning.
This would be particularly useful because plugins like Recycler Box Virtual, or Auto Dung Collector are currently affected by this issue.

That would be a useful configuration feature, I hope it can be implemented!

I do all my purchases through Lone, but the version is still 2.1.4

RustAdmin Online tells me if a plugin is out of date, but I have to set it to detect through Codefling, or I won't get notified if set to Lone.

Any Wallpaper skin that I import gives the "Cannot find item definition for id: XXXXX type:" error. Is there a workaround for this?

I'd like to have admin access only to certain skins ie. The Ban Hammer.

Does this still remove the bonuses from Epic Loot ?

There is a config option to fix this

I may be blind but I'm not sure I know which option I need to change?

edit: I found it!
For those that may Google this in the future, it's:

"Apply names of skins to skinned items": true,

Change that from true to false and you're good to go.

Is there a skin permission that only admins can use? If I add an admin shirt, will it be accessible to everyone?

"Custom permissions per skin":

{ "skinbox.example1":

Could something similar like a skinbox be added?

I had already asked something similar and was told 4 weeks ago that it would be added in 2 weeks at the latest, but unfortunately it has not yet been implemented.

Hello Whispers,

I'm a huge fan of this plugin! It is far and away the best skinner plugin on the market! I've only been having one issue with the plugin, and I was hoping you could shed some light on it. Anytime the plugin is updated or a new player is using it for the first time, it takes a very long time for all the skins to load onto the screen when they're trying to skin an item. It can take up to 5-10 minutes sometimes. I've added roughly an additional 2500 skins to the skins database via the /sip command. These are skins in the Steam workshop. So, in total, I believe there are around 7k skins. Is this the problem? Is there a number of total skins that I should stay under? Thank you!

The more you add the longer the wait time. Also, if you have skins that the plugin cannot find it is a long time for timeout before proceeding. You'll need to prune the skins on a regular basis to clear this up and that takes a great deal of time. Any skin you select that is not approved has the chance of being removed at any time and this will cause issues for you. Keep it simple play it safe.

Thank you for the info! Is there a command or another way I can pinpoint any skins in the database that it cannot find?

Couple ways to do this. You can use Bees skin editor and look for blank images showing or Check the config and look for items that only contain the skin ID and no other info. Be careful editing the config though. Both methods are time consuming and I'm not sure if there is a way to prune these items based on being red flagged after they time out the first time.

I am having issues with my players skin sets (/sc) reseting after a server reboot, does anyone have advice on this?

Check   "Remove player data after inactivity (days)" parameter in your config, mine is set to 90, which I believe is the default. Otherwise I haven't had any issues with player data other than after when Whispers updated the mod that required the removal of the data files as the data structure changed (this meant players had to reset their preferences).
