Trying to understand what this does, so for example I have two teams on my server and they are "teaming" against another, they raid, they steal the loot, does it mean i can check what each player has looted, even if placed in different bases and boxes and who was the original owner of the loot.

In that scenario, you would be able to see what item(s) the raiding player looted, the type of container it was looted from and who owns the container.

I am adding who owns the container in a coming update.

Updated to log who the container is owned by in a separate category..

Would it be possible to support discord webhooks?

I can of course make a lookup command/bot to read the json file but it'd be easier if webhooks were supported out of the box. Planning to flag sus people selectively with the permission such that it posts into a discord channel.

It's something I can look into, added to the update list.

is this always recording the actions of all players? do the logs reset or do they just grow? is it a single log file or many? DO you append to it or is the data loaded in memory and batch saved.. Trying to understand the server load this will have

Thank you,

Thank you,

Replied on Discord, but will post here as well if it helps others.

It only logs if you give the permission (player/group) if you don't give a permission then it doesn't log. As for do they reset, you can manually clear the logs in-game with the command "clrla" (default, you can change it in the config) if you have the admin permission. Other than that on wipe it will recognize a wipe and reset on the first load.

If you give it to an entire group (eg: Default) it will log all, it could start to have some impact on higher pop servers if you do this...

How do I access the log? I can't seem to find it.

By default Loot Audit is set to use permissions, first make sure you have granted the uselog permission to those you want to log.
Second the logs can be found in oxide\Data\LootAudit.json

Thanks, found it! Very helpful tool, appreciate your work!

Would it be possible to add date/time stamps to find things easier as it fills up? Between being set to default for all players/admins and we keep our logs at least 2 weeks, it will fill up very quickly.

Thanks again and for the quick response!

I will take the suggestion into consideration.
Loot Audit wasn't designed to be used for logging all players all the time as noted.

I respawned and rooted my corpse, but the log shows up as another sleeping player. I hope you fix it soon.

I discovered one more thing
Louted the sleeping player's inventory. However, the Louted item information (Item name, quantity) is not recorded in the log. I want to be updated as soon as possible.

Demands won't get you very far.

I am working on it now, will Update when I have it sorted out.

I assume that with this, the file generated would be somewhere like in the data folder. If I was to leave this plugin to monitor my server, could I leave it on 24/7 for an entire wipe? if so, do you think it could cause lag once the file has aged?

just bought it., love it. been searching for something like this for months.
but as i can see the logs (Loot Log) im wandering if theres a way to reduce the spam. example if someone is hitting a tree it doesnt say "Message: mwinter36[76561198362346343] chopped 55 Wood from a Tree." every second. rather than waiting a few seconds then updating the amount to "user chopper 2500 wood from a tree.

anyway, thanks for creating the plugin

Causing lag?, no, taking up drive space space? yes.
I recommend only granting the permission (logging) players that are suspect.....

it won't impact performance as it just writes to the data file, it doesn't check against anything which would consume resources...

It is triggered when something is put in the players inventory so as it sits not really in it's current state, something I could look into in the future.

I bought this last night after thinking about it. The discord logging is superb and works flawlessly. Thankfully for me, drive space isn't a concern and bravely I've got it to keep an eye on everyone, no-one is exempt from being logged. This has worked amazing for me today, and it's amazing that I can keep a close eye on things via my phone.

I was surprised to see this caused zero lag or framerate drops with all the players doing loads all at the same time.

Thanks for getting back to me, you've made an awesome log tool.
Christopher.

Is there any way that you can put the option in the plugin to save the information to a MySQL database instead of the JSON data file? If you could do this, I'll purchase this plugin as soon as you update it. I just don't want to have a huge data file, and since I already use SQLStats on my server with a custom built web UI, it would be nice to have the information in the same database, so i can easily pull the information from there instead of having to parse the information from the JSON file.

Edit: I bought the plugin anyways, cause i support this cause. Its a good idea and a good plugin. Hopefully you can integrate the SQL logging as well!

Hi, it's something I could look into, if I'm honest not something I'm familiar with.
there is the option already to log to Discord via webhook, so you could make a separate channel for this in your discord.

I could give the option to disable the datafile log I suppose, let me know if that would be a benefit.

Yea, so I've been doing a bit of research myself into this. I like the data file if thats the only way to save a hard copy, the discord channel works beautifully, and so for now that will do. I just wanted to create something for my admin team to search through easily, and saving to a MySQL database would enable me to create a web portal for them to log into and look at.

Like I say, it is something I could look at but I have little to no experience with MySQL database use so would have to research it...

I did push an update with the config option to disable the datafile log and only use the discord or vice versa for the time being.
