Loot Manager 1.0.5

   (0 reviews)
Message added by Adem,

When you install this plugin along with the latest version of any supported plugin, all loot settings will be automatically transferred to LootManager and removed from the plugin’s config.
You won’t need to reconfigure anything — everything will be handled automatically.

Message added by Adem,

This plugin does not have its own functionality. This plugin is only used as an API for other plugins

hey,

will there be some migration assist option from BetterLoot? Currently most of my plugins use that, but I'd be interested in switching to this.

Thanks!

Hi, This plugin is not a replacement. BetterLoot. It is designed to customize the loot for the events

Hello.

The Caravan plugin uses skinned crates, which are refrigerators, so using standard loot is impossible with the Caravan plugin. Because the refrigerators will be empty.

Don't worry, this plugin won't affect your current plugin settings. If you have any issues transferring your loot, contact me on Discord and I'll help you resolve them as quickly as possible. http://discordapp.com/users/721754788387094599

It will be easier than it seems and the plugin will make everyone's life easier, both mine and yours.

II find it was easier to manage the loot from config than with this tool 😅

Yes, why is this plugin now mandatory,  the convenience is subjective at best, I also prefer to manage through config.
At least that method is relatively clean, simple and doesn't require using the Game client and a gui to edit.
Gui editing any plugin in Rust is never a good idea.

While I appreciate your efforts and what you have done, I don't like the feeling of being forced into additional plugins without any discussion.

While I have not tried Loot Manager yet, IF I am HAVE TO go down this road, editing configs is a lot better than UI's.. as least you are assured your settings are saved correctly.

This should 100% be optional. For now, im going back to old version of event without lootmanager.

I agree with all of the above, being forced into another plug in to configure is not optimal in my opinion, and would like to just manage it in config as before... Disappointed to say the least

Guys, you don’t know all the details. I’m really trying to make things better for you. The plugin is free and provides a much more convenient way to configure loot. In the near future, Kpuctajl’s plugins will also be updated to work with this plugin. It’s completely free, and any event developer will be able to use it.

Please give it a chance — I’m actively improving it, and over time it will become better and more user-friendly.

There’s also another issue: plugins and configs become huge because of the large number of loot settings. Editing them and writing code gets more difficult, as the IDE starts lagging due to the massive file size. This plugin helps make our work a bit easier.

Thank you for your understanding!

yes, it makes your work easier. I paid for a plug in that makes my work easier.  but sacrificing my time to do so to learn and configure a new plug in is not my idea of the way to do it.  And if Kpuctaji does this also i for real will be using plug ins from other providers. Things were working perfectly.  I own a total of 9 plug ins between you two devs, And they were configured fine. I don't have time or patience to add more complication. Especially after years of owning them....

Loot Manager also has data files, which can also be edited without the client, if necessary.

I also have a hard time accepting any innovations, but for new customers, setting up Convoy or Armored Train in the config from scratch will be a difficult task; it will likely remain the default or almost default for a long time. I believe the core content of almost every server is tied to Adem and KpucTaJI products. I think they deserve the respect and trust of users, despite the occasional bugs and other issues in their products. Show me something like Adem's events, show me something like NpcSpawn, something like BetterNpc... they simply don't exist, just be patient, because the guys are trying their best for us anyway, they do automatic data file transfers, etc., they think up all sorts of features, they are open to wishes and suggestions, I don't see that often.. yeah, maybe they don't do it lightning fast, but we're all human.

I have nothing against Adem, I'm not disrespecting his work, I appreciate it, Adem knows this, you know this.
I appreciate the fact that this is free and all the work that they do.
I am not attacking the work here, critiscism should be welcomed as much as positivity.

I am not being impatient, or upset, I merely sharing my opinion.
My opinion is simple, I don't like that this is a dependency, currently it creates much more work for me and ruins my workflow.

Yes, I understand, I know, from the messages I've seen from you, I've concluded that you're seriously and deeply immersed in setting up the server, but may I ask what exactly is more work now that everything has been automatically transferred and is working the same way as before?

Hi Adem, love the idea just after todays update i have a question i use loottable + stacksize will this allow me to config loot within loottable + stacksize? If so a quick rough guide how to do it. Is it click on LTS/allow plugin to spawn loot/overide? Will this show in LTS?

Hi. Recently, the Loottable & Stacksize plugin added custom loot tables that you can create and edit. You only need to enable the top switch in Loottable & Stacksize section if you want to add a custom loot table to the default loot table for that crate from Loottable & Stacksize (in most cases, this isn’t necessary).
So you either need to specify a custom preset in this plugin’s section, or enable that switch.

In the latest update, I added the command /lnfill presetName, which allows you to fill a container with a loot table. You can use this command for testing.

Yes, I am and I also seriously against unnecessary forced changes that favours a small group without discussion or question.
It is a little presumptious to assume everything is "working as before", for everyone, it may be for you and that is great, it is not for me.

Ok, if you want to know how it affects my workflow, well;

- Extracting singular parts of loot configurations from one plugin config file and exporting each as a singular data file
is messy, it creates a lot of files, it makes manual .json editing a total mess.

- The file extractions make a lot of presumptions,
- suddenly the data files are named names I don't recognise.
- The naming system uses some names I used in my config, sure but that is not intuitive as the name of a data file.

Are you aware how disruptive that is?
Imagine I opened your 1 year of notes, tore out all the titles, mixed them up, then re-wrote all of your notes in a way more familiar to me, then stuck every one of them from your note book to your wall with selotape.
Now its easier for me to see them... but what about your notes
Do you see my point?

- There is absolutley no folder organisation between the loot tables
- they are all in one folder (lets say shipwreck, Caravan, Convoy, Armored Train for reference)
- suddenly I have a huge pile config files with no organisation.
- This is not helpful, it has a huge negative impact on time, organisation, naming structures, editing of configurations.
- There is no consolidation of files or ease of access here.
- I could go on

I'm quite sure I'm not alone here with these issues.

I hope this can be read constructively and not with annoyance or aggression,
I am sharing my thoughts, I only see many problems with this,
in its current state and how it affects my use of Adem's plugins which are heavily customised.

There should be an option to "opt out"
or not use this plugin, at least until it can be fully finalised.

Adem, I understand you want to make management easier for yourself and your collaborators but this is not an ideal solution for users of your plugins.
I trust you will improve the plugin and make it work great but, maybe next time don't force the release until its finished cooking.

This simple editor seems it is designed to make it easy for new customers that have never modified a .json before.
Improving accessibility and making ease of use improvements is great but not when forced like this
Gui editing in Rust is still way to risky, buggy and leaves only room for error -
For me, its not worth the convenience of a nice visual interface.
