About seven years ago, Facepunch added guest codes to door locks — and that tiny feature completely changed the way I looked at Rust. That’s when the idea for my Puzzle Houses was born: a place where each room contains a four-digit code for the next door. Since then, I’ve created dozens of logic puzzles, events, and quests for a PvE server — building up a whole collection of brain-teasing content that brings a new dimension to the Rust experience. Now I’ve decided to polish and release some of those creations publicly — so others can use them or get inspired: Season 1, Season 2, Season 3, and Season 4. Some puzzles are simple, others more challenging; some are interactive, others showcase more complex layouts. It’s really hard to capture the full vibe of the event in words — but I can share a few sample puzzles that work well as images (the answer is the 4-digit number). Let me know what you think — and feel free to reach out!

And special thanks for mentioning Zone Manager! I'll definitely look into this plugin, it looks like it's a convenient tool to use any PVE events even in the vanilla Rust. Also perfect for more complex events like my Puzzle Houses.

Regarding loot as a reward for players, unfortunately, I could not come up with an adequate way for a player to receive a reward only once. I do not know how to solve this with the standard tools of the game, apparently, a special plugin should be used for this.

You can get auto-authorisation when pasting the building -- just add "auth true" to the /paste command. The cupboard for the labyrinth hidden in the walled column, just a little bit straight from the entrance.

Did you get building authorization? That should give you full access, including the mailbox. (Sorry, I'm not familiar with Zone Manager — is it some kind of plugin?) The building was thoroughly checked — I'm sure all the wallpapers were intact initially. (Maybe some went missing after a server restart?) I usually leave the boxes in the throne room empty so that admins can manually add the most suitable loot.

It's hard to argue with Facepunch finally stepping in. For years people have been abusing intellectual property left and right giving it freely, and it was only a matter of time before they cracked down. You can't build a business off someone else's work and expect it to last forever.

Welcome to the Labyrinth! Looking for a fun and flexible event for your server? This multi-level maze is perfect for PVE adventures, but also works surprisingly well as a PVP arena, with tight corners and unpredictable movement. And you’re not getting just one maze — this is a three-level structure, each floor featuring its own unique twist: The Dynamic Maze — A shifting labyrinth where the layout constantly changes. Just when you think you’ve found the way, the walls move and you're lost again. The Transparent Maze — Built entirely from grates. You can see the exit... but getting there is a whole other story. The Sliced Maze — Created using half-height walls, adding a vertical twist to classic maze logic. It's not just left or right anymore — it's above or below! Supplied as a ready-to-use .json file compatible with the CopyPaste plugin, this set is perfect for events, challenges, or just giving your PVE server a memorable side attraction. Can your players pass through all three? Only one way to find out!$7.00- 1 review

A compact and atmospheric mini-monument, the Ruined Warehouse offers more than just cover and perfect scenery. Hidden within the crumbling structure lies a locked loot room — but this time, there’s no keycard required. Instead, players must explore the site to discover a four-digit code to gain access. Loot available: 6 x Barrels 1 x Oil barrel 3 x Normal boxes 1 х Military crate 1 x Tech Parts crate Prefab contains height map. Includes 226 objects. A similar code-lock mechanic can also be found in the Octopus Assembly — check it out if you enjoyed this one. If you’re curious, the standalone Four-Digit Code Lock prefab is available for free download. Moreover this prefab pairs perfectly with the Tsar Tank — like the tank rolled straight over this warehouse and kept going! Installation: 1. Download the archive 2. Unpack the downloaded archive to the /RustEdit/CustomPrefabs folder 3. To ensure proper in-game functionality of electricity make sure Oxide.Ext.RustEdit.dll is placed in the /serverroot/RustDedicated_Data/Managed folder (see details at https://www.rustedit.io/threads/rustedit-oxide-umod-extension.695/). This extension requires Oxide/uMod to be installed on your server.$2.00-

Yes, after that horses will align to the Hitch & Trough and start to eat. -

Honestly speaking I don't get it what the doors are you talking about and who are "they"? Can you please describe what kind of issue do you have? -

SimplePVE won't let me have permission to feed the horses
Uncle Theodore replied to wiress67's Support Report in Support
Alas I'm not familiar how the Simple PVE work (for sure it is possible to change the horse ownership to you somehow). However as straightforward solution you could spawn a new set of horses inside the room. Console commands: to remove the horse "ent kill", to spawn a horse "entity.spawn ridablehorse". -
SimplePVE won't let me have permission to feed the horses
Uncle Theodore replied to wiress67's Support Report in Support
Sorry, I didn't fully understand the problem -- you are the admin and have full access to the room 4B, right? Because to start horses to eat you should simply sit on them once, to align them to the Hitch & Trough (the food already loaded). Or SimplePVE blocking you from the horse ownership even if you have admin permits? -

A new quiz for film lovers is here! No previous season required, this event base is a fully standalone experience. Just like the original Cinematheque, this house contains 32 rooms, each hiding the title of a full-length feature film. Only the title matters — not the plot. To unlock a door, guess the movie and find its IMDb page. Use the last four digits of its ID (e.g., tt0088247 → 8247) as the code. It's a foolproof system: no brute-forcing, no guesswork, just good cinema memory or clever deduction. There are two separate paths, A and B — Path A is a bit easier, Path B's a little trickier. Solve them in any order; each will give you half of the final riddle. Put them together to unlock the final door. Even if you haven’t seen a particular movie — don’t worry. You can often deduce the answer from the visuals and clever hints around you. It's all part of the fun! Also includes a separate pdf-file with puzzle descriptions and solution codes. File contains handy interactive black bars to avoid accidental spoilers. Looking for more? Don’t miss the original Cinematheque — the first part of this series. Curious but unsure? The demo is free to play: CINEMATHEQUE DEMO technical note: after pasting the house make sure the horses in rooms 4B and 15A are fed properly to maintain their vitality (just sit on them once).$7.00- 3 comments
