Can you please clarify the billing? I thought I bought a perpetual license for this plugin but I am seeing pending invoices for this plugin

Hi, since v2.5.0 due to the expansion of features, a renewal term is applied for any feature updates.
This is intended for new purchases though, not sure if that went through like it supposed to. I'll check for your case.

EDIT:

You should have access to all versions up until now (Do not expire).

I'm sorry, renewal?

Had he suggestion to look into this plugin for easy kicks and warnings, but seeing that we have to pay time to time goes a bit to far for me. I really dont mind to pay for a plugin or a monument. But as a compensation for the work that's been put into.

As you have recurring on your plugin, i would like to know your company name, Chamber of commerce register and legal papers before i'm even going to buy this.

Hi @GamingHQ,

The renewal term is OPTIONAL, only required to receive new features of the plugin.
You purchase it once and can use the version you purchased forever.

The reason a small renewal term was added from v2.5.0 was due to the expanded feature set, much larger than the original scope of the plugin. It was being heavily requested by happy customers. The renewal term will ensure the continued development of the plugin.

I intend to release any bug fixes of previous versions free of charge without requirement of renewal.

I hope that clears up any misunderstanding.

Your reasoning makes it seem like a subscription model which it clearly is not.

Might be a nice addition as well to separate the permissions out between adding and removing warnings. I would prefer that my basic admins don't have the ability to remove a warning from players.

Awesome addition otherwise.

In case I haven't reached out to you before, this is now available in the new version 🙂

/warn clear <player name or id> <id or ALL>

Clear a specific warning ID by specifying the warning number, or specify ALL to clear all player warnings.

(NEW in v2.5.0) Requires elevated permission: smartwarnings.admin.canclear

It was a hard decision to make but I prefer it than the "DLC" model of plugins making a barebones one and then several separate paid addons to it...

Instead I prefer a fully featured plugin with loyal customers should enjoy new features over time as the plugin develops.

For as long as the renewals are active, it will remain fully supported with fast support and continuously developed.

Since last time this was brought up I released the Battelemetrics integration to all purchasers, requested by the community.

Unfortunately, due to the renewal terms, I'm deciding not to get this plugin. The renewal terms, while I understand is for future development costs, I rather pay a higher price outright upfront then have to deal with renewal terms. Having a "3 month" subscription to something just to get updates is not something most server owners really want. As you can see above from the other users stating that the renewal terms are a "kick in the face". Its unfortunate as the lite version of this plugin is super awesome and I was going to purchase this upgraded premium version but have decided not to due to the renewal terms. Listen to your userbase. If a bunch of people are complaining about renewal terms, then most likely you should think about changing them.

I've reconsidered it and removed the renewals for now. I want to keep the base plugin cheap as possible, since I know not everyone will use every feature.

And to further expand on this... I'm all for DLC's. 100%. The reason being is because say one server owner needs one specific feature, but another server owner doesn't.

Example: Lets say the base plugin is $20, and each DLC is $10 a piece. 2 DLC's total. Server owner 1 gets DLC A while server owner 2 gets DLC B. Thats $40 total to you. While you could up the price of the base plugin to $30 and include the features in both DLC's into the base plugin, hoping to get two sales making you $60 total, now server owner 1 can't afford the plugin at all. Only server owner 2 can. So instead of making $40, you only made $30. So its a win win in my book. Go ahead and split up features into DLC's. Not many plugin owners really do that besides David and his welcome panel. I think personally its a really smart option, and gives server owners a customizability option that isn't typical, and doesn't really have any downsides. You could also go a bundle and save option as well that includes all DLC's, or a combination of whatever DLC's you come out with.

Thank you for the reconsideration of the renewal terms, I'll be sure to purchase this plugin after the first of the month.

You need to configure it according to the mute plugin you use, check the mute plugin documentation

For better chat mute it is:

mute {0} 10m {1}

See:
uMod - Better Chat Mute by LaserHydra

mute <player|steamid> <time: 1d1h1m1s> [reason] -- Mutes player temporarily
