I can see that once again you totally missed the point around referencing the original post. 

Of course you can update versions when the server is shut down. You overwrite the old file and once oxide loads, so does the new version. So by very definition, you've updated versions. 

I assume you know the first rule of IT: never test in production. Have a test server, or if you can't afford one, run one locally - test things there, restart it, etc. This will save you from many future headaches. If you pride yourself over the server you created, which you of course should, you then always test things, no matter what. You say you have a test server, which is good - but then I really don't understand, how come this issue came up for you in your production version. That should not have been the case if you'd have used the test server first. 

Lastly, devs are humans too, and everybody can make mistakes. Due to the extreme amount of differences in environments, it is not a realistic expectations that there can't be bugs in files. 

Ok you must not get it.  I NEVER once uploaded the new version (Which has been needed for a while now).  The old plugin shut my server down while I was sleeping, possibly on restart and that was that.  Server down, nobody could get in until I dumped the OLD version, then the server was wiped.  Are you following here?  I have no desire to use this plugin again.  I have not even downloaded the latest, MUCH needed release. I do not think I will.  I can do without the plugins.  I have 149 of them.  3-4 less wont hurt crap.  You thinking everyone has a test server is hilarious though.  When a dev releases a patch, it had better be tested, and 100% working.  I have updated over 100 plugins in a week, not one has had an issue.  It comes down to the Dev and if he listens to people or not.  Passing the buck onto other plugins is not the way, especially when you release a new version after blaming everything else.  I can and will do without these plugins.  You are no better than any other server owner.  You are just pretending to be. lol  GFY

Pine just confirmed that to their knowledge, this only affects 2 of their clients (out of hundreds) and is as easy to fix as removing the file after restoring from a backup. Do you not have an automated daily backup running? Another basic IT rule... have backups. 

You might disagree with test servers but in the end, it's you complaining over an issue and me without one. Maybe re-evaluate. You over-represent an issue that's extremely easily avoidable, fixable, and you yourself make up 50% of.  Bit comic.  Thanks for the entertainment though!

I'll let you in on a secret, but I test updates before publishing them, both in Carbon and Oxide environments. And at the time of publication, I don't encounter any errors, and my saves are intact and load properly. Everyone who uses the plugin has their own plugin build, and each plugin can affect the behavior of another. I also have about 120 plugins, but I don't get any errors because I wrote most of them and I know what's in them. So it's your responsibility as a server owner to check if the update will work correctly in your case. If you don't want to do that, I'm not forcing you to use my products. I try to do something more for the community, and with each update, it gets better and safer.

The hosting always tells you everything to not be their fault don't forget  I have installed and I did not have any issues until new release. You need to start backing up files inside your pc or if you don't, just update files at the end of the wipe.

You are an awful dev.  Here everyone!  My plugin doesn't work, do this workaround. Keep my money, your plugins are all going in the shitter.

for me @0xF is one of the best coders here. just look at it inside.... Plugins have bugs, so give it a break while people fixes. Not easy  

happened to me losing everything long time ago, and Hosting told me that was a plugin (not from 0xF). I didn't cry, changed hosting and continued using that plugin (that worked very good with the other hosting). Life continues...

Adem makes all these devs look like noobs, and I wont touch my backups with this plugin tied into them.  I will start fresh.  I am sure you are fine with no pop.  lol And I personally do not care about your situation.

Adem and I are developing completely different types of plugins, and Adem has bugs just like any other developer.  Personally, you seem to be the only noob here, since you can't admit your mistake in not having backups. So please stop embarrassing yourself and don't post your very valuable opinion here.

Oh I have backups, I wont use them with your plugin tangled inside.  Starting fresh!  Thanks for great plugin though.  No need to reply, I wont be using anything from your page ever again.  That is a fact. Hope your emergency patch helped.

im on pine run most of his plugins the hell you smoking how can this plugin wipe your server i have never had this an run it since it came out an only on pine server done compare your dumbness to his problem if you can prove them maybe id listen but just spouting words with no proof means nothing where is the logs the errors the proof this means nothing shows us something then your sad emotions lol...im in the discord as well where is this being said that many have been wiped by this plugin?or even complained about this you act like yours is many but its only you who complained about wipe lol
