There are several different ways to adjust the XP gain depending on your situation.

1. Adjust the XP for each gain option (kills, looting, crafting, etc)

2. Adjust the per Level boost

3. Stretch out the per level multiplier requirement

4. Take in count night boost, bonus kills if kill records is used, teams, clans, captaincy stat settings, etc..

Every server is different in how they want to make levels and the difficulty. I cannot give much help on what you should adjust to get your desired results but the system is extremely detailed and adjustable.

so if i make the per level requirements higher does that mean they need more xp til the next level?

yes, you can also reduce the level xp boost which gives more xp the higher the level to help prevent such grinding

Can you get a hard core mode? I think players will maliciously brush the experience?

There is a hardcore option that doesn't allow any stat/skill reset

I am making a primitive server and wanted to know if you could add support for some plugins I use?  If a donation would help I would be glad to donate because this is a great plugin.  https://chaoscode.io/resources/archery.146/    https://chaoscode.io/resources/wizardry.100/  Thanks

If you could, post in the discord under suggestions https://discord.gg/Xb7HEQwXtq with details on what type of support your looking for with these mods and I will see what I can do.

Is the /xpliveui location able to be set in the config?   Or, is this per-player setting only?  Where are locations 1-5?

In the admin panel you can set the default LiveUI location which controls all new players default location. If you have the option set for players to be able to change it then in the player profile UI there is the LiveStats location options off, 1 - 5. If you have it set where players cannot change the location then it will use whatever location you have set in the admin area.

Location 1 = beside the Health, Hydration, and Food bars
Location 2 = bottom left of the screen
Location 3 = top left of the screen
Location 4 = top right of the screen
Location 5 = wrapped around the bottom hotbar (armor above it, level/xp below it)

Only if you enable the permissions to be required

The grants below VIP are needed for people to use those aspects of the plugin.  This allows you to have Special "VIP" only abilities if you want.

I gave them all the to default and players are delighted.

This is a great plugin but can i make a suggestion. Currently when using tools i.e the rock to hit a tree/node you get 10 xp per hit in the default config. You also get the same when using the salvaged hatchet/ pick but hit the tree/node less times. My point being you get more xp points for hitting the tree/node with a rock than you do with higher tier tools. Is it at all possible to change this in the config file so you get more xp the higher tier tool you use or is it something that will need hard coding? Same applies with all items used in game. Thanks for this great plugn though.

there is no config option for this, I will have to look into tool detection and code in options of xp based on tool used. The only option at this time is to prevent xp when using power tools as it gives excessive amounts (jackhammer, chainsaw) which can be enabled or disabled

i found turning down the amount you get per hit and per craft item works well

Can I set the experience gained after killing each NPC separately?

In this way, NPCs with different difficulties can be set. Those with high difficulty will receive higher experience rewards, which will motivate players

There are only 3 NPC xp settings, scientists, Dwellers, and custom. Unless I have the exact shortname of an npc type I can't add separate options

I fixed it myself.

at line 7355 - switch (KillType) - all you need is a case for ZombieNPC ,. I treat them like a customnpc for rewards. I also had to type all lowercase (zombienpc), capitalized names weren't recognized.

it auto lowercases the names when done correctly and will include a separate xp option for those.  The next release will hopefully be ready tonight which has ALOT of new features and some bug fixes. Details are in the mod updates channel on the RustLevels discord
