Preview a map or prefab
Explore a file’s layout before deciding whether it fits your server.
Open a preview
- Open the file page and find its preview. When several maps or prefabs are included, choose the one you want from the selector.
- Open a map image for the 2D map. Drag to pan and zoom in for a closer look. Use the map controls to change the visible overlays.
- Choose 3D when it is available. Sign in first. 3D previews are available on computers and tablets, not phones.
Find files with 3D previews
In supported categories, use Has 3D preview under Preview to narrow the list.
Share a preview
Open the view and selected map or prefab, then copy the address from your browser. The recipient still needs permission to view the file and must sign in for 3D.
What a preview shows
The preview is a visual guide. It does not run a Rust server, plugins, or game logic, and some assets may look different in-game.
