Create or update a file branch
Separate Staging and Beta versions alongside your public Main release.
What to do
- Open the file’s Manage branches control when it is available.
- Choose Staging or Beta, then create or update that branch.
- Enter the version and changelog and add the branch files.
- For Beta, set a future move-to-Main date if scheduling is available, or leave it without an automatic date. Save the branch.
Good to know
Main is the current public version. Staging can move to Main on the site’s monthly schedule when automatic promotion is enabled. Check the next date shown instead of assuming a particular day. Availability depends on your permissions and the file’s category. A branch may need moderator approval. Manual Move to Main is restricted to administrators in this version.
