Been enjoying the mod since buying, Skins are great and loot seems fairly Balance, some spots seem a little OP but been tinkering. But i am having issues where clothing/armor skins are working, But Weapons/Tool skins are not appearing while in hand, The icon of the skin shows in inventories just not while in hand/using weapon/tool. Anyway to fix this?

Hi!

glad you liked it.

I’m sure salvaged axe worked for me since I swapped skin on it and used that a lot when I built the table, safest thing would be to give it another skin if it’s not working for you👍

I can absolutely fix this! Hit me up on discord and I’ll change the things you’re having trouble with and it will work🙂

Looking to grab this plugin, just have one question. It says player approved skins. Is this workshop skins or skins that can be purchased. I just worry about rusts rules against this?

Hi, the skins are from workshop, it’s skinned thru the config files on every item.

Sorry, but just to clarify, plugin loads skins from steam workshop that are not purchasable (not approved for sale)?

IDK about this DLC/Paid skin wise because I bought this config and some skins kinda look suspect. And to confirm for sure I went and looked in the data file and found this was being used for the turret skin and this is a paid skin... https://wiki.rustclash.com/skin/murder-hornet-auto-turretI ran straight here after I confirmed.

I Bought this thinking it was safe and turns out thats a paid skin.

Hi! Just to clarify, no DLC content are included in this download. Using skin IDs in configuration files is fully permitted and has been reviewed/approved by Codefling staff. The config simply references skin IDs from Steam—no actual skins or game files are being resold. You can safely use this on your server.

I've also heard it as you can't have DLC or paid skinned items able to become available for players who do not own it to use. Like for example, we can't have an Roaming NPC wearing or using paid skins or dlc if we are going to allow those things to drop. We would either have to lock dropping or change to a skin that isn't paid. And I thought we cant have our loot be paid or DLC because we are then giving players things they did not pay for.

Facepunch restrictions apply to DLC content.
Even in official Vanilla Rust, any player can pick up, drop, or use a skinned item from a dead body, crate, or another player without owning that skin in their Steam inventory even if its a payed skin. Skin IDs in loot tables function the exact same way.
If you dont feel comfortable using it you can allways set the paid items to 0 in the config files, or talk to CF about a solution.
I checked this with CF when i created the file and also across sites and it was ok to do it this way.

True but I thought it was different if the server is providing the Paid skins through a drop or looted npc than if a player with the skins dies. All the conversations I have had recently with developers have told me what I am saying so It's very confusing to say the least. I just dont want to violate any TOS, but if its okay then I would like to continue to use your config because its a nice addition.

I completely understand your concern!
Having skinned items in loot tables, barrels, crates, or NPC drops is allowed. Standard item skins (like a painted Auto Turret or Thompson) are cosmetic only and do not trigger any Facepunch TOS violations when spawned via plugins.
The strict Facepunch TOS rules apply specifically to DLC items (e.g, Boomboxes, Sunburn items, Submarines/DLC mechanics) if a server tries to sell them for real money on a server store (VIP etc.). Standard weapon and deployable skin IDs in .json files do not fall under this restriction as far as i know.

You can allways change some ID's if you dont like the skin, or if you dont feel comfortable using the paid turret for example.
Glad you liked it overall!

@Ponn This is incorrect. You cannot provide players with any approved workshop skin or DLC, regardless of how they receive it. This violates Facepunch's terms of service, and we've disabled purchases until this is corrected.

That was on me, i have fixed it now with every item that needed a reskin, also added a few items and fixed the problem with tools and guns.
Hope you like it and just text back if there is anything else!

Thank you, could you please skin the lr300?

Also the ladder hatches and some other things are skinnable now too. Just wondering because the pack does say "fully skinned edition". 🙂
