Warranty Terms

Every file purchase includes our standard six-month warranty, with extended protection for eligible Codefling+ purchases. These terms explain what is covered, how to make a claim, and what happens if a covered file cannot be maintained or repaired.

Warranty Terms

Standard Six-Month Warranty

Every file purchased on Codefling includes a six-month warranty from its purchase date, at no additional charge. You do not need a Codefling+ subscription to qualify.

For a covered claim, Codefling will work to provide a functioning file or issue a full refund if it cannot be repaired or maintained. Downloading the file does not remove this protection.

The warranty period starts when the file is purchased, not when you first download, install, or use it. Each purchase has its own coverage period.

Extended Coverage with Codefling+

Files purchased while your Codefling+ subscription is active receive an additional two years of warranty coverage on top of the standard six months: 30 months in total from the purchase date.

If your subscription later expires or is cancelled, qualifying purchases retain their extended coverage until their individual warranty periods end. You do not need to remain subscribed throughout that period.

Purchases made without an active Codefling+ subscription retain the standard warranty. Starting a subscription later does not automatically extend an earlier purchase. Renewing a subscription does not restart the warranty on files you already bought.

The extension follows the same covered-functionality and claim process described below. It does not include unlimited custom development or an entitlement to features that were never part of the purchased file.

Covered Functionality and Maintenance

The warranty covers significant defects or failures that prevent a file from performing its advertised functions within its stated requirements and supported environment. This includes functionality problems that cannot be resolved because the creator has stopped supporting or maintaining the file.

Support, bug fixes, and maintenance may be used to restore covered functionality. We may work with the original author, provide support through Codefling, or arrange for a qualified maintainer to address the issue.

Coverage is not conditional on the original author remaining available. A creator leaving Codefling or discontinuing support does not, by itself, cancel an active warranty.

The warranty does not promise uninterrupted operation, a particular development schedule, new features, or compatibility with software outside the file’s stated support scope. A working file does not qualify for a refund solely because its author has stopped releasing updates.

Exclusions and Limits

  • Problems caused by customer modifications or third-party alterations to the file.
  • Incorrect installation, unsupported configuration, misuse, or failure to meet disclosed requirements.
  • Problems caused solely by third-party software, services, or platform changes outside the file’s stated compatibility and support scope.
  • Customizations, new features, or adaptations beyond the file’s advertised functionality and ordinary maintenance.
  • Unauthorized copies, redistribution, resale, or use outside the applicable license.
  • A change of mind, no longer needing a file, or preferring another product.

An exclusion applies to the issue it causes; an unrelated modification or support dispute does not automatically invalidate every claim. We may ask you to reproduce a problem using an unmodified file in a supported environment.

Exclusions do not excuse misleading descriptions, remove mandatory consumer rights, or override an express support or compatibility commitment made with your purchase.

Abandonment and Discontinued Support

If an author becomes unresponsive or a file appears abandoned, report the problem to Codefling. Include the functionality affected and your attempts to obtain support. A missed response or a lack of recent updates does not alone establish abandonment.

Codefling will assess whether the file can be supported, repaired, or assigned to a qualified maintainer. If no viable solution can restore covered functionality, an eligible claim will result in a refund.

If the file is outside the author’s support obligations, Codefling covers the warranty cost rather than requiring the author to fund that protection. A difference between the author’s support period and your warranty period does not cancel your coverage.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

For ordinary product issues, contact the author through the listing’s support area first. If they are unavailable, the issue remains unresolved, or the file appears abandoned, submit a warranty claim. If you cannot access the claim form, contact the Help Center.

Include your purchase or invoice reference, the file link and version, a description of the failure, relevant errors, steps to reproduce it, and any support correspondence. Explain which advertised function is affected and identify the game, framework, or other software versions involved.

Report a covered issue while the warranty is active. A claim reported within the coverage period will not become ineligible solely because Codefling’s investigation continues beyond the expiry date. Keep a record of when you reported the issue.

Provide reasonable assistance with troubleshooting, but never share passwords, private keys, or unnecessary personal information. Suspected malware or other urgent security concerns may be reported directly to Codefling without waiting for the author.

Claim Assessment and Refunds

Codefling assesses claims using the purchase record, coverage dates, product description, reported behavior, and available support information. We may request additional details or give the author or maintainer a reasonable opportunity to restore functionality.

A claim is not an automatic refund request when a viable repair or support solution exists. However, where a claim is covered and no viable solution can maintain or repair the file, the promised refund is not merely discretionary.

A full file refund means the amount actually paid for the affected file, accounting for discounts, plus any associated taxes or charges that must be refunded under applicable law. The warranty does not reimburse separate subscription fees, hosting costs, custom development, lost revenue, or other consequential losses unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Any effect on download access or the file license will be explained as part of the resolution. Refund processing and payment disputes are also covered by our Refund Policy. You must not knowingly obtain duplicate reimbursement for the same purchase.

Check Your Warranty Status

Your Purchases Dashboard displays a warranty indicator for each covered purchase. Hover over the indicator to see the expiry date and whether coverage is active or expired.

If the displayed status appears incorrect, contact Codefling with your purchase details and, where relevant, evidence that Codefling+ was active when you purchased the file. A display error does not by itself remove coverage you are entitled to.

If the warranty has expired, you can still contact support. Other purchase rights or refund policies may apply, and Codefling may consider assistance outside warranty on a case-by-case basis. An expired warranty does not guarantee a discretionary refund.

Protection Against Fraud and Misuse

Codefling may reject fraudulent claims, fabricated evidence, claims for purchases the claimant is not entitled to use, or coordinated attempts to exploit the warranty system. This includes dishonest arrangements between customers and creators or groups of customers.

A good-faith claim, multiple users reporting the same defect, or disagreement with a decision does not by itself establish fraud. Any account action must be based on evidence of misuse and remain subject to our policies and applicable law.

If you believe a claim was assessed incorrectly, contact the Help Center with the claim reference and any information you believe was overlooked.

Your Rights and Other Protections

This warranty adds protection to your purchase. It does not replace rights provided by applicable law, remove an existing product license, or reduce an express commitment made when you bought the file.

The general no-refund rule after download does not override a valid warranty claim. Separate protections, including refunds promised under the Curation Disclaimer, also remain available where they apply.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or removes remedies that applicable law requires.

Changes to Warranty Terms

We may update these terms as the warranty program or legal requirements change. Updated terms apply to future purchases from their stated effective date or, if none is stated, when posted.

Changes will not retroactively shorten coverage or remove warranty benefits already included with an earlier purchase. An existing claim will be assessed against the applicable purchase terms and any protections required by law.
