Set up two-factor authentication
Extra protection for your account with a verification code from your phone.
Set up your authenticator
- Open Account Settings → Security and Privacy and confirm your identity.
- Choose Enable under Google Authenticator.
- Scan the QR code with Google Authenticator. For manual setup, choose Not able to scan the QR code? and enter the details shown.
- Enter the current code from the app and choose Verify Code. Check that the method now says Enabled.
Moving to another phone
Keep your old authenticator until the new one works. Open Security and Privacy, choose Reconfigure, and complete setup on the new phone.
Keep the QR code, setup key, and verification codes private.
