Item Skinning - Money?

Greetings All,

I am wanting to create an economy surrounding actual money as a loot option. Not just with an Econ plug but an actual physical item that I can skin to make look like money/currency. Is this possible? And what item that is still in the game files could possibly be used for that?

Yes, it's possible. You could technically use any item and just change its skinid, however, you wouldn't be able to change the description. Notes are often used for physical currency though.

Thanks for the response Death,appreciate it. I have a skin and a skinID as I am changing Note. However, how do I actually change the skinID in the game files?

You set the skinid of the item via a plugin and it'll set the icon to the desired skin, assuming the skin was made correctly.

Paper is a good one to use, since it isn't used for anything else that I'm aware of.  I'm not sure how you would skin it though, since it isn't in the workshop to be skinned.

@Solarix You can apply the skin ID on any items in-game. If it's not skinnable, it would only apply the icon of the item in your inventory. I do it all the time for custom items.

Hello. You could ask the devs to allow the money-skin too the paper, so we can use paper as cash for those roleplay or PVE/PVP servers wish to have them. Myself included would like it to be something else than Scrap. Scrap can be for the research-table, and the bandit/outpost/fisher could be with "money" instead. Would make it also more fun for the PVP to have a event of a large bank or even.. raiding a guy, only too see they were loaded with money. But.. maybe the items being sold for money, than should be higher than it is today with scrap..
