The Oxide Custom Map v6.2 By Ionut Shiro

Question

Hi,

 

Tried to use this map to play on hosted on my dedicated server.

The server seems to run fine from what I can see but, does at some point mention about an invalid chicken corpse.

Anyway, the server loads  up in game and I can see server in list to pick.

I join server but, it gets to spawning world 12179 out of 12183 and just stops.


I have used other maps and also old maps that work fine. I have the rust.edit.dll in oxide.

Appreciate some help getting this map to load.

Hello, normally it would be recommended for issues with a specific file to create a (New Support Request) on the files Support tab. This notifies the creator. I reached out to them actually to let them know about this general support ticket and they mentioned you've reached out in their Discord as well. But wanted to reply and give you the information. Using their additional sources of support is fine as well but just to more surely ping the author I wanted to mention that these can be missed more easily than a ticket on the file itself

I am sure you will be able to resolve quickly by the sound of it, but wanted to reply and offer the suggestion.

If you navigate to your Rust installation folder, and go to Rust\cfg\ and look for client.cfg and delete that config file, you'll be able to load into the server fine.

Also how much RAM do you have installed on your computer and is it installed on a HDD/SSD ? 

This only happens to 1/10 people from what i've seen so it's hard for me to replicate this issue i could connect just find and some others but judging by your request and 2 others i had in the last months this is only 1/10 cases.

After a lot of testing and use of AI to check code in client.cfg files...

I managed to work this out and have let Ionut Shiro know 🙂



** IMPORTANT **
If you have trouble joining this map!

Method 1:
you need to change
Game options under EXPERIMENTAL
You need to switch Optimized Loading to OFF

Method 2:
In Steam - view rust and right click to view properties and then select to view file location
Now navigate to the Rust\cfg folder
In here is client.cfg
You can edit this via notepad
Then find and change the following line to "0"
global.asyncloadingpreset "0"


Note:
"1" = Use experimental Loading
"0" = Turn it OFF
