It is always recommended to read update notes.

My guess is you all missed the 2.1.1 update notes and updated straight to the more recent versions.

The old config needs to be deleted, you can make a copy of it first if you want to keep the information to transfer over, but there are new parameters so if you have issues you are likely overwriting some of them or have not created a new config yet.
