Creator Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Codefling! We're excited to have you as a creator on our platform. These Creator Terms help everyone stay on the same page when it comes to submitting and selling content here on Codefling. By uploading content, you agree to these terms, which make sure that things run smoothly for all creators and customers.
Eligibility and Account Responsibilities
To be a creator on Codefling, you need to be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a legal contract. Make sure the information you give us is accurate and up-to-date. You’re responsible for keeping your account safe, so if you think there’s been any unauthorized access, let us know ASAP.
Ownership and Rights to Your Content
You keep full ownership of anything you submit to Codefling ("Submitted Content"). By uploading your content, you give us permission to use, modify, promote, and display it as needed to run and market the platform. You also promise that your content doesn’t break any laws or infringe on anyone else’s rights. If you don’t have the rights to the content, please don’t upload it!
Anti-Competitive Behavior
Creators must not engage in any actions that undermine or harm the Codefling marketplace or the interests of our community. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Offering your content at a lower price on competitor websites or platforms.
- Sharing or promoting competitor platforms with the intention of driving sales away from Codefling.
- Soliciting users to make purchases off-site to avoid Codefling fees or for any other reason, as this deprives the platform of revenue it needs to operate.
Codefling works hard to bring customers to your content, and anti-competitive actions not only harm us, but also the hundreds of other creators who depend on our platform for exposure and revenue. We reserve the right to remove your content from Codefling or take other actions if we determine that you are acting in a way that is detrimental to the platform or our community.
Maintaining Fair Pricing
To keep things fair for all customers, you must ensure that the prices for your content on Codefling are consistent with prices on other platforms. Content listed on Codefling should not be offered at a lower price elsewhere. We want to ensure that customers feel confident in getting the best deal possible when shopping on our marketplace.
If we discover that your content is priced lower on other sites, we may ask you to adjust the pricing on Codefling or suspend the availability of your content until pricing parity is restored.
Non-Disparagement
We expect creators to refrain from making any negative, false, or misleading statements about Codefling, our team, or our community. This includes publicly posting disparaging comments on social media, forums, or any other online platforms. We believe in constructive feedback, and if you have concerns or suggestions, we encourage you to contact us directly so we can work together to address them.
Any negative behavior that aims to harm the reputation of Codefling may result in the removal of your content or termination of your account.
Support the Community
Codefling is home to a diverse group of creators and users, and we encourage everyone to support one another. Please avoid behavior that could damage the community, such as attempting to poach customers or creators, spreading false information, or otherwise attempting to interfere with the success of others on the platform.
If we determine that you are engaging in actions that are harmful to the community or anti-competitive in nature, we may take corrective actions, including suspending your account or removing your content.
Quality Standards and Reviews
All files you upload must be safe, functional, and meet our quality standards. Our curators will review your submissions to make sure they work properly and don’t contain any harmful code. If you’re a trusted creator, your files might be available for download before we complete the full review, but don’t worry—we’ll still get to it.
If your content doesn’t meet our standards after it's up, we may need to remove it or put it on hold, and we’ll let you and your buyers know if there’s an issue.
Support and Updates
We ask that you provide updates and support for your paid content for at least 6 months after the first sale. That being said, we understand that life happens—if something comes up and you can't keep up with support, just let us know, and we’ll work with you to find a solution. We want to encourage you to support your content for as long as possible to keep your customers happy.
Abandonment and File Maintenance
If paid content becomes unsupported or is deemed abandoned by the original creator, Codefling reserves the right, at its discretion, to maintain the content or assign a new maintainer to ensure continued support for buyers. By uploading content to Codefling, you grant Codefling a non-exclusive, perpetual, transferable license to modify, maintain, or assign maintenance of the content in the event that it is no longer supported by you. This license allows Codefling to take necessary actions to prevent disruption to buyers who have purchased the content.
In the event that a new maintainer is assigned, any future sales of the content will be redirected to the new maintainer as compensation for their ongoing support and maintenance efforts. Codefling will ensure that all necessary legal and operational steps are taken to effectuate this transfer of sales, while preserving buyers' rights to access and use the content as originally purchased.
Transfer of License Upon Sale of Codefling
In the event of a sale or transfer of ownership of Codefling, the license granted to Codefling by authors shall not automatically transfer to the new owner. Authors will have the right to revoke the license previously granted to Codefling and withdraw their content from the platform.
Authors electing to revoke the license must provide notice within a reasonable timeframe after the sale is announced. Codefling, or its new owner, will facilitate the withdrawal process, ensuring authors retain access to their content and that buyers’ rights to previously purchased content are not disrupted.
This provision ensures authors retain control over their content and can choose whether to continue participation under new ownership.
Refunds and Disputes
Once a file is downloaded, all sales are final, since it’s a digital product that can’t be returned. If a buyer has an issue, they should reach out to you directly, and it’s up to you whether to offer a refund. In special cases, Codefling may step in to help resolve a dispute or issue a refund if necessary, which could be deducted from your earnings.
Earnings and Fees
When you make a sale, the money will go straight to your CF wallet, and you can withdraw your earnings anytime without fees. We do deduct a small fee from each sale to cover payment processing, platform upkeep, and marketing. Here’s the breakdown:
- 3.49% - Payment processing fees (PayPal/Stripe)
- 0.49 USD - Transaction fee
- 3% - Withdrawal fee for PayPal payouts
- 5% - Codefling contribution (for platform maintenance and marketing)
You’re responsible for any taxes on your earnings, so make sure to handle that as required.
Payment Processing and Tax Responsibilities
Codefling is not a Merchant of Record (MOR). Our role is limited to facilitating payments between buyers and creators. Specifically, we collect payments on behalf of creators and hold these funds until a payout is requested. Codefling does not assume responsibility for managing taxes, VAT, or other obligations for creators—our primary function is to provide an efficient and secure platform for transactions.
It is important to note that any earnings from your sales on Codefling will not be automatically paid out; they will remain in your account until you initiate a payout request. You are fully responsible for handling all applicable taxes, such as income tax, VAT, or any other taxes required in your jurisdiction. Codefling does not withhold or remit any taxes on your behalf.
Your Responsibilities
Please keep your content updated so it stays compatible with Rust updates and other changes. If your content becomes outdated and stops working, it might be removed. Also, make sure your product descriptions are clear and accurate—misleading buyers isn’t cool, and it could get your content taken down.
Warranties and Indemnity
You promise that:
- You have the rights to the content you submit.
- Your content is free from harmful code.
- You’ll provide support for your content as mentioned above.
If there are any claims against Codefling because of your content, you agree to cover any related costs, including legal fees.
Limitations of Liability
Codefling isn’t liable for any indirect or accidental damages resulting from using our platform or your content. We’re also not responsible for any issues that come up because of the misuse of content by buyers.
Termination
We hope things go well, but if you break these terms or violate any laws, we may need to suspend or terminate your account. If that happens, any existing licenses granted to buyers will remain in effect, but you won’t be able to upload or sell new content.
Changes to These Terms
We might update these terms from time to time to keep up with changes to the platform or the law. If we make any big changes, we’ll let you know. Continuing to upload content means you accept the new terms.
