It looks like rust is going all in on protecting their skins and is about to enforce trade protection. First no unauthorized use of skins/dlc's and now they are after third party sites selling their skins.

Is this just another money grab exercise as they make nothing from third party skin sites or is this really protection of players inventories

What is everyone's thoughts on this

It's hard to argue with Facepunch finally stepping in. For years people have been abusing intellectual property left and right giving it freely, and it was only a matter of time before they cracked down. You can't build a business off someone else's work and expect it to last forever.
