pipes

How do you get pipes through the hatch? water and electricity work, but can not get a pipe to work. 

That's a good point, I'll have to look into that and come up with a solution

Unfortunately I don't have a fix for this right now. I have a couple ideas, but I'll need to think of the best way to handle this. For now, it will just be a limitation of basements. I'll add it to the "known issues" in the readme.
