Two issues with the airdop.

First, sometimes the associated bots don't spawn.

Second, if they do, they parachute for a few seconds then fall to their death.

Hi,
This isn't something I've seen happen on my server, or had reported.
Is there any chance you have a plugin that might kill npcs for being too far away from navmesh, or anything like that?
I know there were a few patches/fixes floating around, to try to prevent issues with some of the vanilla npcs spawning off-nav, and causing console spam.

If this isn't the case, please let me know and i'll do some more digging.

Thank you for the report.

Hi Steenamaroo,

TL;DR at the top 🙂
I had the sucide timer set to 0, which I may have incorrectly assumed meant they wouldn't suicide at all. I set it to 12 and tested a few times and they are working as expected.

Troubleshooting below as it may help others.

  • I am running the following plugin Nav Mesh Error Fix
  • I unloaded the plugin and called in a airdrop. No bots spawned.
  • I then renamed the plugin so I was 100% sure it wasn't loaded. Called in another airdrop. Nothing.
  • Called in a third airdrop and this one had bots, but their chutes failed after a couple of seconds and they died.

Realised that they might be counting as suicides.

Thanks,
Rynki

hmm, still seeing the occasional missing bots on a regualr supply drop?

Ah, yes, of course. Setting the suicide timer to 0 would result in almost instant death.
The explains it.

With regard to seeing one or two missing, on occasion, that's most likely just down to the terrain in the surrounding area and failure to find suitable spawnpoints.
Whether or not there is suitable terrain is, of course, just luck, because the position of the supply drop could be anywhere.
You can improve the odds a bit by increase the AirDrop profile's spawn radius, but it's probably fair enough if it's a couple of npcs short, once in a while.

Thanks for following up with detailed info!
