Loot Tables reload to default table on server restart or reload of plugin

Closed 2.8.4

I took the time to use the RB Loot Editor to modify the loot tables from the Editable Lists folder after running the rb.populate all command. I then copied those files into the difficulty folder. My server restarted at its normal time and all of the loot tables in the difficulty loot folder reset back to default files and not the files I had edited. Ive read over and over the readme on the plugin page and cant figure out why it is doing that. Am I missing something here?

I attached 2 json and renamed the file I edited to be Nightmare_edited so you could identify them. Nightmare is what is loaded when the server restarts or I run o.reload Raidablebases. I also provided screenshots. Not sure if it is normal but it unloaded the plugin every time I reload it and then pulls the loot tables twice.

reloading will unload the plugin first. that is normal and is how oxide works

I'm not having any of the issues you're describing. loot table loads fine without resetting, and there is no double output

welp Ill just eat the 40 bucks I guess then? I cant explain why its happening. You dont seem to have an idea and all I can think of is pull it from the server and reinstall or just pull it and move on I guess

lol don't be so drastic. I have no problem helping you

how many files are in the Difficulty_Loot folder? there should only be 5

Easy.json, Medium.json, Hard.json, Expert.json, and Nightmare.json

nothing else

correct, Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert and Nightmare are the only json files in the difficulty loot folder. I have all 5 profiles set to ignore the base loot as well.

how are you uploading these files?

close the page, close your browser, relaunch and go back to the file manager.

unload the plugin, upload the files and then load the plugin again

Ive been using an FTP client to update the files. I will try using the builtin FTP access from the host after closing everything.

using an FTP client is fine. it's actually preferred since cache issues can be a real headache on some hosts.

question, instructions on the plugin page state to copy the content over to the existing file. That is what I have been doing but is transferring the edited file as long as the name is correct an option to try?

ya. i actually edited the Nightmare.json and pasted in your data rather than uploading and overwriting, but either will work fine

hm well might've been that the file didn't save on the server after being edited for some reason then.

glad it's sorted!

you can check the file's date and time on the server after editing the file to ensure that it saved properly as it would have the server's current date and time then
