I get this when I try to start by chat or console:

Check the messages when you reload the plugin.

My recommendation would be a fresh install possibly though. NullReferenceException errors are usually something out of sync with configs and a fresh install can often fix them. Make copies if you customize it much and want to keep any of that information. If you have continuing issues feel free to jump in the mad mapper discord and creating a ticket.
