About These Guidelines
Welcome to Codefling. We provide a place to discover and share plugins, maps, and other tools, exchange ideas, and support the people who create them.
These guidelines apply throughout Codefling, including the marketplace, forums, reviews, profiles, private messages, and support areas. By using Codefling, you agree to follow these guidelines and the other policies relevant to your activity, available in our legal overview.
Be Respectful
Treat other members with courtesy, including when you disagree. Criticism of a product, idea, or decision is welcome when it is constructive and focused on the issue.
Personal attacks, harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, discriminatory abuse, and intimidation are prohibited. Do not encourage others to target a member or retaliate against someone for leaving honest feedback, reporting a concern, or participating in a dispute.
Keep Contributions Relevant
Post in the appropriate category and keep discussions on topic. Use clear titles and include enough information for others to understand your question or contribution.
Avoid spam, repeated posts or messages, excessive bumping, and deliberately disruptive behavior. When requesting product support, use the author’s designated support channel and provide useful details rather than posting the same request across unrelated areas.
Advertising and Self-Promotion
Promote products, services, or websites only in areas where promotion is permitted, such as appropriate marketplace listings. Follow any additional rules for those areas.
Do not send unsolicited advertisements, use unrelated discussions or reviews to promote your business, or repeatedly redirect members to external services. Unsolicited advertising and excessive self-promotion may be removed, and repeated violations may result in account restrictions.
Prohibited Content and Conduct
Do not upload, link to, request, or promote illegal or harmful material. This includes pirated software, stolen files, malware, phishing pages, explicit sexual content, graphic real-world violence, and content that encourages violence or discriminatory abuse.
Do not use Codefling to scam members, impersonate another person or organization, distribute malicious code, or obtain unauthorized access to accounts, files, or systems. Discussion of game mechanics or legitimate security troubleshooting must remain relevant and must not facilitate abuse.
Respect Intellectual Property
Share only material that you created or have permission or a valid license to use and distribute. Follow the applicable license terms for code, images, maps, assets, and other content.
Credit does not replace permission. Purchasing or downloading a file does not automatically give you the right to redistribute it, resell it, publish its source, or include it in another product.
If you believe content infringes your rights, contact Codefling Support with links to the content and information supporting your claim.
Protect Privacy and Account Security
Do not publish another person’s private or sensitive information without permission. Before sharing screenshots, logs, or support attachments, remove passwords, API keys, payment details, personal contact information, and other confidential data.
Keep your login credentials secure and do not share your account with others. Use a unique password and enable two-factor authentication where available. Report suspected account compromise to Codefling Support promptly.
Do not impersonate staff, creators, or other members, or use another account to evade a suspension, ban, or access restriction.
Honest Reviews and Fair Participation
Reviews and ratings should reflect your own experience with the product or service. Keep feedback relevant, accurate, and useful to other members.
Do not fabricate reviews, manipulate ratings or helpfulness votes, coordinate targeted voting, or use threats of negative feedback to obtain benefits. Creators must not pressure customers to remove legitimate criticism or retaliate against reviewers.
Report suspected manipulation through the reporting tools or support rather than organizing a public campaign against another member.
Purchase Issues and Chargebacks
If a purchase has a problem, contact the file author through the listing or their designated support channel. Explain the issue and give them a reasonable opportunity to help. If they are unresponsive or the issue remains unresolved, contact Codefling Support with your purchase details and relevant correspondence.
Refund and warranty requests are handled under the applicable policies in our legal overview. Please work with the author and Codefling in good faith to resolve purchase issues.
A payment dispute is not automatically fraud. Nothing in these guidelines limits rights available under applicable law or your payment provider’s dispute process. Do not let an ongoing support request cause you to miss a dispute deadline, and contact your payment provider promptly about suspected unauthorized transactions.
Knowingly false claims, fraudulent chargebacks, or attempts to obtain duplicate reimbursement may result in revoked purchase access, account restrictions, suspension, or termination. Enforcement will consider the circumstances and evidence, rather than the mere fact that a dispute was filed.
API Access and Usage
Use the Codefling API only for purposes we explicitly permit and in compliance with all applicable platform rules. API access does not grant ownership of, or redistribution rights to, marketplace content.
Without prior written permission, you may not use the API or any data, metadata, listings, files, images, descriptions, pricing, or other content obtained through it to mirror, republish, syndicate, redistribute, sublicense, sell, or otherwise make Codefling marketplace content available outside Codefling.
You may not use the API to build, power, populate, or operate a competing marketplace, catalog, download service, or substitute offering that displays, distributes, or facilitates access to Codefling content.
Do not bypass access controls, purchase flows, creator protections, rate limits, or other platform restrictions. Keep API credentials private and use them only within their authorized scope.
We may limit, suspend, or terminate API access for misuse, suspected misuse, security concerns, excessive usage, or violations of these guidelines. Unauthorized use of the API or API-derived content may also result in demands to remove content, revoked access, account suspension, or termination.
Report Violations
Use the reporting tools available on the relevant content, or contact Codefling Support. Include the relevant links, a clear explanation, and supporting information such as screenshots or message details.
Make reports in good faith. Do not submit knowingly false reports, encourage mass reporting, or harass the person involved. Share sensitive evidence privately with support rather than posting it publicly.
We review reports and take action where appropriate. To protect privacy and security, we may not be able to share every detail of an investigation or its outcome.
Moderation and Enforcement
Depending on the nature, severity, and history of a violation, Codefling may issue a warning, edit or remove content, restrict features or access, suspend an account, or permanently terminate an account. Serious violations may result in immediate action without a prior warning.
Follow staff directions relating to these guidelines. If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, contact Codefling Support with the relevant details and an explanation. Do not evade the restriction or target the staff member involved.
Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these guidelines as the community and our services evolve. The current version will be published on this page, and any notice required by applicable law will be provided.
