 sam does not shoot at a patrol helicopter. There are several plugins on the internet that allow SamSite  to do this.

the sam site thing to defend our bases can target a nornal heli but i found the heli in the convoy does not get targeted by the sam site 

By default, in Rust, Sam Site does not shoot at a patrol helicopter. I recorded a video for you. Maybe you use some special plugin for this?

i get why some would not want it to so could be cool if there was an option for sam site targets convoy heli true or false 

Patrol helicopters cannot become a target for the Sam Site. It doesn't matter if they are in a convoy. Any patrol helicopter will not be a target for SamSite

You can use this free plugin to force the Sam Site to attack the convoy heli. I don't want to add this feature to my plugin, because it will greatly affect performance.

I think so. But it will work with all helicopters on the server and cause the same performance degradation. And if I add this function to the convoy, then it will only work in the convoy

bro i would say put ticket to closed there is a valid reason why the plugin stops the sam sites targeting the convoy heli because of performance reasons this is a good reason to not force the sam site to target the convoy heli all i would say is maybe make a note in the description about this and why its not something you can implement due to performance issues 

You're just the first one who asked for it. I think that the solution I have proposed to you is optimal.
If there are more similar requests, then I will add this function to the plugin, I think
