Quote Share this comment Link to comment Report reply Stuggy Posted March 21 Your buying the prefab. you must use rust edit to spawn it into your map and add the surrounding textures etc to it. its not somthing you just spawn in-game. its a premade edit really. Quote Share this comment Link to comment Report reply Rezanow Posted March 23 I was about to ask the same thing. If I may suggest it, please add a note to the description that this is something specifically for custom made maps, not something to be added to existing maps from in-game or something? I see now that this is in the "prefab" section, but it's highlighted from the front page so... ? It would probably save you having to answer this question again. haha Quote Share this comment Link to comment Report reply domleg Posted March 24 How do I use this on my server? Quote Share this comment Link to comment Report reply Rezanow Posted March 24 As the dev noted above, it's something you'd have to put into a custom map. You'll need Rust Edit for that. 1 Quote Share this comment Link to comment Report reply domleg Posted March 24 (edited) Ok, I got as far as downloading the Map from my server and loading it in Rust Edit then placing the Custom prefab in the map, I can save it and replace the file on my server? Edited March 24 by domleg Quote Share this comment Link to comment Report reply Stuggy Posted March 27 Yes does your server support dropbox for custom maps? if so thats the easiest. also. when making a custom map. make sure to change the name to somthing like you already have, but make a slight change to it. so lets say make it procedualmap.400.123.204.mapp < add that extra "p" on the end, cause when players go to join, it will automatically download the map into the rust files. if its named the same, and they have already played that map for instance they will get an error while connecting. so bare that in mind. once you place it in rust edit. make sure to add the textures etc that comes with the map file within rust edit. (this will automatically place the ground textures and heights i pre set for the themepark) save it. put it in your dropbox. or if your running the server from a home based server i'd assume you will have to put it else where. i've only ever used the drop box method. so some googling will be required. Then I paste that link with the modified dl=1 into my custom command line options on my server hosting site in the field, map URL. And presto, new map downloads to my server when I start it up and downloads to my laptop when I join. Was not too bad...btw, really nice job on that! Plans to get the Ferris wheel running?
