cloning issues

Subject: Personal Farmer – Need Help With Cloning and Crossbreeding

Hello walkinrey,

I've been setting up Personal Farmer on my Rust server, and I'm having difficulty getting the cloning and crossbreeding features to work.

I'm running Carbon and using PersonalFarmer v0.4.2.

I discovered that the configuration option "Can farmer do cloning & crossbreeding?" was set to false by default. I changed it to true, which made the cloning controls available in the planter interfaces.

I've also configured my triangle and square planters for propagation and cloning. However, I have not been able to get the farmer to actually perform the cloning or propagation tasks.

I've spent quite a bit of time trying to understand the process, including examining portions of the plugin source code, but I'm still unclear about the correct workflow.

Could you please provide step-by-step instructions explaining:

How clones should be supplied to the farmer.

Which planter types should be used for propagation and crossbreeding.

How the farmer is instructed to perform each task.

What storage containers or planter inventories are required.

I purchased this plugin specifically because of its advertised farming automation and cloning capabilities. I would really like to get these features working rather than give up on them.

Propagation and crossbreeding are two separate features

PROPAGATION (any planter type)

1. Put clone cut you want to propagate into farm storage box

2. Settings > Crop growing: turn on "Propagate clones?" and click the needed clone to select it for propagation

3. On needed planter, turn on "Use for propagating clones?"

Farmer will plant that clone in every free slot, cut new clones and put them into storage

CROSSBREEDING (large planter box only)

"Use for crossbreeding and cloning plants?" switch exists only on large planter box. Any other planter show only propagation switch, I think that's why it did not work for you

1. Settings > Crop growing: turn on "Crossbreed clones to achieve target genes?" or "Crossbreed clones based on the overall quality of their genes?"
2. Turn on the crossbreeding switch on EMPTY!!! large planter box
3. Put seeds or at least 2 different clones into farm storage
   Farmer grows clones from seeds if needed (usually requires a lot of seeds), plants a center clone with neighbours around it, waits for it to grow, cuts the result and repeats until it matches your target. I recommend you to try on berry seeds first
