Currency is based on "Purchases - Used Purchase System (0 - None, 1 - Economics, 2 - ServerRewards)" value. if it is 1 it is Economics, if 2 it is ServerRewards. In both options if price is set to "currency" it will use selected plugin hooks.

If i'm not mistaken I had it set to option 2, and a player sent a screenshot their currency was stated with a USD symbol.

Ah, you mean that. You can change the Currency symbol in translation file.
The "KillRewardCurrency" value.
