Issues with SkillTreeItemsPro

Hi,

For some reason, the STIP buffs and XP injections stopped working correctly a few weeks ago - only config change on my part was reducing the duration of buffs.

If you list them for sale in exchange for whatever item you want, they work fine with no issues, and you receive the items normally. But if you set the exact same item as the currency/payment, I can't purchase anything and get the pop-up "You cannot afford this purchase," even though I have the required items in my inventory.

The settings look correct on my part too, since I haven't changed those at all:

CVS:
    {
      "currencyType": "Item",
      "itemID": -1622660759,
      "skinID": 3329896239,
      "displayName": "Common Quantum Shard [XP: 7000]",
      "defaultDisplayName": null,
      "text": "common quantum shard",
      "armorSlots": 0,
      "conditionPercentage": 0.0,
      "hasCondition": false,
      "maxStack": 1
    },

Is the displayname capitalized in the config, or is it lower case?

"displayName": "Common Quantum Shard [XP: 7000]",

I tried setting everything to lowercase and uppercase instead, but that doesn't make any difference, and it still tells me I cannot afford this purchase. Weirdly enough, it worked for almost a year and only stopped working recently.

Equally, I have the hardy planters set up with the first letter of each word in uppercase, and those have no issues at all

Let me load it up on mine and see if I can replicate the issue.

Do this  (ideally with a fresh data file if possible):

  • Create a new vending machine profile.
  • Create a new listing > Select the STIP item that you have added to the default currencies field in the config.
  • Add it for sale for 1 scrap
  • Create a new listing > Select scrap.
  • Add it for sale for 1 of the STIP item that you added to the default currencies field in the config.
  • Spawn the same STIP item using the stip.give command and add it to the inventory of the vending machine.
  • Create a new listing > Select the STIP item itself (not the currency) to list for sale.
  • Add it for sale for 2 scrap.

Drop the data file and config files for CustomItemVending in here.

I did some testing, and it seems to work on my server. There was an issue when I initially added the default item to the config, where I had accidentally had xp as lower case rather than upper.

Interesting, the first listing I can purchase without issues. The second one says the same thing: you cannot afford this purchase even though this item is in my inventory. The last listing doesn't recognize the item at all.

So, I waited for the answer for a month just to get the ticket closed? 😅 Yet the issue is still there.

Sorry mate I mass closed them - there was 790 notifications in my list from tickets dating back to 2024 that were done, but weren't closed.

Bound to have a few fall through the cracks.

Found it. CIV only accepts a payment item whose name matches the currency name exactly, capitals included. STIP builds item names from the profile name plus the effect details, and buff names include the duration, e.g. midnight protocol [+100-150% - All[900s] - Time: 18:00 to 06:00]. When you shortened the buff durations, every newly created buff got a new name (e.g. [600s]), so it no longer matches the [900s] entries in your CIV config. The XP shards have the same problem for a different reason: STIP names them in lowercase, common quantum shard [XP: 7000], while your config has Common Quantum Shard [XP: 7000].

Changing the config afterwards won’t fix listings you already have, because each listing saves its own copy of the currency name when it’s created. To fix it:

  1. Spawn each item with stip.give and copy its exact name, or update the displayName values in the CIV config to match the format above with your current durations, all lowercase.
  2. Reload CustomItemVending.
  3. Delete the affected listings and create them again.

Bear in mind that if you change buff durations again later, the names will change too, so you’ll need to repeat these steps.

For the third listing, what exactly happens? Does it show 0 stock, or does the item not appear in the list at all? A screenshot would help.
