Question about BetterTC update regarding Facepunch’s new DLC policy

Hi,

I’ve seen that Facepunch recently updated their server guidelines regarding DLC usage, stating that servers are no longer allowed to grant access to Facepunch DLC content (like official skins for buildings) to players who haven’t purchased it.

I’m currently using BetterTC on my server and wanted to ask if you’re planning to update the plugin to comply with these new rules, for example:

Disabling official DLC skins by default

Adding warnings when using restricted content

I’d love to keep using your plugin, but I also want to ensure my server stays within the official guidelines to avoid any penalties or delisting.

Hello! We're working on it. You'll also be able to use the DLC as long as you've purchased it on Steam.

hey @ninco90 question, does setting the upskin permission override the bypass for the DLC items?

No, you must still grant that permission for building skins to be displayed on screen. Only those who have purchased them will be able to use them.

Ok then I think I might have found a bug? I was setting up the plugin on my server and even though I have `"Bypass DLC ownership check (⚠ only allowed on creative/test servers per Facepunch rules)": false` set in the config. If I give the default user group the bettertc.upskin permission I am then able to run to the TC and apply skins I don't own on Steam.

Can you attach a screenshot of how they're displayed? Have you purchased the DLC? If you have, it will let you.

yea for sure, here they are. @ninco90

I do not own the DLC, I only own the Jungle Building Skin.

This is with the bettertc.upskin permission not active. Notice how I see the defaults and the Jungle skin is locked even though I own that one.

This is with `oxide.grant group default bettertc.upskin`  set.

I noticed that even if you don't have upskin permission, it still lets you reskin. I've fixed this.

I've also noticed that it lets you reskin even if you don't have the DLC.

So it's now fixed, as shown in my screenshot.
