Using carbon framework

The bugs im having are,

1 - when placing stuff down it doesn't get removed from my hotbar like when your in creative mode.

2 - I can place a TC but it will break or stay behind once the train is moving.

3 - Building pieces disappear but act as if still there and connected to the train/wagon.

4 - Building pieces also get left behind, same bug as in a previous version.

Using Carbon 2.0.197.0/linux/2025.07.03.1 [production] [production_build] on Rust 872/2592.269.1 (07/10/2025 13:05:55)

this is working without issue, can you do c.version and provide your carbon version? 

I suspect you have a plugin that is causing this behavior, i've tested it on my test server with the workcart_aboveground and do not have the same issues. Keep in mind my test server ONLY has TrainBases on it.

if you can provide more details on how to replicate the issue i'd be happy to investigate further. 

1 - when placing stuff down it doesn't get removed from my hotbar like when your in creative mode.

- I placed a TC, walls, boxes, etc and everything was removed from my inventory appropriately

2 - I can place a TC but it will break or stay behind once the train is moving.

- I placed a TC and it did not break and also stayed with the train

3 - Building pieces disappear but act as if still there and connected to the train/wagon.

- building pieces are not disappearing, i've traveled around the map and cannot replicate your issue. Ive even reloaded the plugin mid travel to test

4 - Building pieces also get left behind, same bug as in a previous version.

- no building pieces are being left behind as tested above.

i'd first try to reload TrainBases and ensure it compiled successfully, if it did test to make sure you do/dont have issue. 

after i'd then try disabling plugins that deal with the building system until you find the culprit. 

When you noticed these bugs did you just add the plugin or how long after adding the plugin did you notice the "bugs"? 

I wiped my server then installed the plugin and then started my server right after on a fresh wipe. The bugs happened as soon as I finally found a buildable one, can only seem to find metal ones that are rare and no twig ones. The plugin compiles just fine. I will go through any plugins that deal with the building system like you said and see if any of those are the cause.

odd, the plugin worked for me on the same version of carbon, the only difference is my server was already up when I added it. 

The only thing I can think of is you have a conflicting plugin or the fact it was added before it was up fully caused the issue. Though I highly doubt it was due to being added before it was up fully.

BetterTC plugin is the cause, interesting enough I could place the TC down with my admin account but not with my regular player account so I think one or more of the BetterTC permissions may be the root cause.

I'm going to go through and test each permission because if i can narrow it all the way down it would be useful information to you and you can inform people before they buy as it may be a deal breaker. I love the

BetterTC plugin and i want to keep it active if i possibly can. Will update you on what the outcome is or if any further/deeper problems emerge.

Interesting, I messaged Ninco to see if hes any idea why this would be the case. I can work to make this compatible but cannot make any promises as of now. 

I appreciate the update and will keep you updated on any progress I make

UPDATE.

It's the plugin itself, I tested all perms and none of the perms are the cause. Atleast now you know BetterTC isn't fully compatible however as an admin it works fine but for regular players BetterTC causes these

bugs. I even got a friend to jump on to triple check and got the same outcome. Would be awesome if the DEV of BetterTC and yourself could work it out to make them compatible but that's totally up to you.

I appreciate you keeping me in the loop of things because if you guys can fix it others and I will be very happy!

I found that after the server restarts Train Bases won't work unless i reload the plugin, do you know of a way i can have it reload automatically when the server has fully started?

If the plugin compiles at all then it should also compile on server restart automatically. What do you mean it doesnt work? Are you not able to build on trains, are they not spawning etc?

 

Sorry should have provided more info. So when the server restarts the plugin does compile successfully but you can't build unless the plugin is reloaded and compiled again, I have no idea what's causing this but

it's giving me a headache as I've been trying to find out why. The trains do spawn after the restart and you can see the twig or metal you just can't build on them.
