Support for pipes and line breaks

I noticed that the server will not start if there is a "|" in the server name. I also noticed that the server description does not respect "\n" for line breaks and just shows them as "n". 

I have not had this issue with other eggs in the past, so I was curious if support could be added for these in yours. 

Or perhaps you know of workarounds?

I also had an issue where my server header image wasn't showing and the tags were not displaying.

I moved these to the server.cfg file and they work just fine, so I tried adding the hostname and description there as well and they work with the pipe and line breaks.

So something is off with Pelican and the startup parameters.

My main server is not showing a header image, description, or link button now. Even though this is all set in the server.cfg. Also, my staging branch doesn't appear to use a server.cfg file at all. So these are related issues to report.
