Rubber Banding Server

When I got the mod in the server rubber bands so badly make server unplayable.  When mod is out I have no problem. Do you know of if Bots mod  clashes with any another mod? Or do you know of a fix for this?  Any help would be appreciated.

What version are you on?

Are you seeing any errors in your console (on the host, not in game)

If you are running 1.3.6 and have any bots using homing missiles in their kits, disable them as that is a known issue.

Thank you for responding back on this matter it is much appreciated  .

I'm using version 1.36 and tried with version 1.35 .  Where would the settings be for the use of Homing missiles? I checked everywhere and can't find it.  I'm using default settings that the mod uses . Haven't changed anything .   Is there a way to stop the AI from fighting each other? I'm hearing alot of fighting going on  among themself s , when i'm the only one on.  Not sure who they are fighting . LOL Maybe that could be causing the Massive lag spikes  .

I would assume you are using Kits plugin alongside BotReSpawn to loadout your bots.

If you have a kit where a bot has a homing missile launcher, that will be your issue. It is bugged and spams the server relentlessly, this will manifest as lag.

Look in your server console on your host and are you seeing a stream of

NullReferenceException 

errors?

As for stopping them fighting each other, look on the Behaviour tab of each profile for "Target other NPCs" and "Factions"

There are two known issues right now which will be patched, hopefully today.

One relates to collision when very close to npcs,
so if the issue you're seeing happens during melee combat with npcs it's probably that.

The other, as @Rynkisays, relates to homing missile launcheres.


Both can be temporarily solved (avoided) by running V1.3.5.


If you're experiencing lag or rubber banding on V1.3.5 then most likely your server is getting hammered.
If that's the case do 'bot.count' in console and see how many are spawned.

Looks like there are a few issues i'm having. 

1. Yes collisions near NPC's .  Put 1.35 in. Seems to still have that issue (could be from bots fighting each other on server or the high Bot count)

2..Bot's fighting other bots on server. Hear fighting in distance . All settings are set to ignore and factions/sub factions are at 0 . Not sure why they are fighting

Thought maybe conflicting with BradlyGuards  . But still hear fighting after that was taken out.  Or they are fighting the tank at the LaunchSite

3. Bot count is really high . was 270 cut that down to 170.  Still having  lag issues.

I have 220gb of Ram  70% of RAM still available when server is running. 

I do appreciate both of you taking time to help out with this situation.  Might just have to wait for update .

Is there a way to have Spawn radius for the bot's .?  So they only spawn when a player is a certain distance away from the monument location.

There's no spawn/despawn based on real player distance but you can enable ai_dormant for your server,
then set BotReSpawn Allow_Ai_Dormant to true.

That way the npcs will cease activity if there are no players within a certain radius.

V1.3.5 has no such issue - It's caused by specific code that's not in that version,
so I think maybe what you're describing is a more general server or performance issue.

I had some serious lag and rubber banding on my local test server yesterday, which is new.
That's an empty 1800 map with one player and one npc.

I'll ask around and see if others are experiencing similar.

@ryan per- Have you updated your client today?
I just updated mine and all rubber banding issues from yesterday are gone.

Might be coincidence but worth checking.

Client and Server fix, one of the items was

  • Server memory leak fixes (Fleck updated)

Should sort lag out.
