BotSpawn error

Pending 2.1.9

Hi.

I get this error when I run the server with this plugin:

"Unable to load the AI: Murderer.Action. Additional details: Exception of type 'System.Reflection.ReflectionTypeLoadException' was thrown.
  at (wrapper managed-to-native) System.Reflection.Assembly.GetTypes(System.Reflection.Assembly,bool)
  at System.Reflection.Assembly.GetTypes () [0x00000] in <eae584ce26bc40229c1b1aa476bfa589>:0
  at Apex.Utilities.ApexReflection+<>c.<GetRelevantTypes>b__0_1 (System.Reflection.Assembly"

There's a whole bunch of 'Unable to load the AI: Murderer.Think', 'Murderer.Move'  etc.

I've read these forums and I found that this usually points to differing versions between rust server and oxide. I've checked both and they are up-to-date. Funny thing is, this only happens when I enable 'Murderer=true' in the botspawn profiles. When set to false, it runs without a console error but the bots ingame just stand still and do nothing. If I kill one, I get a CTD and and RPC error in the console.

Btw, I've been using botspawn for a long time and it worked just fine. The errors started after the last update to rust. I've re-done the kits from scratch and using only 1 kit to test but nothing.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Hi,

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that points to a server install issue.

I expect if you unload BotSpawn then do 'spawn murderer' in f1 console, looking at the ground in front of you, you'll see the same errors.

Yep, tried it. Same thing happens. I forgot to mention I use other plugins like gathermanager and backpacks and they work just fine.

Both rust server and oxide report correct version numbers: Oxide 2.0.5164 - Rust Server protocol 2311.215.1. Should be correct, right?

I've reinstalled both the server and Oxide several times but this problem persists. Any thoughts?

Those version numbers look correct.
I'd guess at either corrupt files in server install, or maybe permissions issues (file access permissions).

I really don't know but you can be pretty confident it's not a plugin issue - Rust server is failing to load its own assets.

OK, just needed to rule out plugin issue since it started after a rust update. I'll get back to you if I find out what caused this so others who may have the same issue can perhaps get it resolved.

Thanks for a kickass plugin 🙂

Ok so I figured it out. My firewall AND antivirus were both interfering with steamcmd for some reason, the server wouldn't update properly. After I turned them both off for testing, it worked. My antivirus had an update the other day so it seems it reset some settings. Anywho, it's fixed.

Just a little update, after some more exploring, it seems my antivirus (comodo) quarantined ..\RustDedicated_Data\Managed\EasyRoads3Dv3.dll because it seems to think it's infected with TrojWare.Win32.Krap.T@101925166. I did a bit of googling and comodo seems to have this issue with other games too. A false positive it seems.
