Hi!
Yeah, what's your problem?

The api key is in, the perms are set. I had the plugin working once on the old version. I only want general chat work translate. There is no specific lang file for it.

Thanks for the details. You’re correct: no language file is required for general chat translation.

In AITranslation Pro 1.1.2, chat translation requires explicit opt-in, which the older version did not require. Please verify that:

  • Both the sender and recipient have aitranslationpro.chat.use.
  • Both players run /ait.chat on.
  • /ait.chat status shows translation enabled for both.
  • The players have different Oxide/Carbon language preferences.
  • The message is sent in global chat; team chat is not translated.

If all players use the same language, no translation request is made. You can also disable LangFilesConfiguration.Enabled if you only want chat translation.

If it still does not work, please send your plugin version, Oxide/Carbon version, whether BetterChat is installed, and any relevant console error—without sharing your API key.

Is there a way to give all player is as default?

Hello,

We have disabled this feature for security reasons.

However, if you'd like, we can re-enable it.

It just makes more sense to me if the global chat is translated automatically.  But if its a risk i guess not??

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply, and thanks for your patience.

Yes, I agree that having global chat translated automatically makes more sense from a usability standpoint.

The reason it is currently opt-in is mainly to avoid automatically sending every player's chat messages to the translation API by default, which could also result in unexpected API usage and costs for the server owner.

You can grant the permission to all players with:

oxide.grant group default aitranslationpro.chat.use

Players will still need to enable translation with /ait.chat on for now.

I'll consider adding a configuration option in a future update to allow server owners to enable chat translation by default for everyone, so servers that want fully automatic translation can opt into it.

I'll mark this request as resolved for now. Thanks again for your feedback, and sorry again for the delay.
