Hello,

I picked up BotReSpawn yesterday and it's been great but I'm running into a slight issues and I'm unusre how to test or fix.  I installed BetterLoot and used Looty to adjust the drops assigned to the default prefab "roadsign9".  I then enabled the "Allow BetterLoot" global setting and on my profile for the death options I selected the Rust Loot Source as "roadsign9".  However, whenever I loot the NPC it has a road sign and a single pipe instead of what I configured in Looty.  I checked the Looty json and they show "roadsign9" as having the loot I setup.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Yes - The 'Rust Loot Source' selection does just give vanilla loot for whatever you select, even if you're using BetterLoot.

I think BetterLoot populates npcs based on their prefab (scientistnpc_roam for BotReSpawn)
and the AllowBetterLoot option is there so that users can disable/prevent that for BotReSpawn npcs, if they want to.

If you're looking for more specific tailoring, like on a per-profile basis,
items can be added to the npcs kits or, for more control, I have a free plugin called CustomLoot.

It's not the easiest thing in the world to use but it does support BotReSpawn on a per-profile basis,
or globally, you can choose,
and can be used to supplement vanilla or other loot.

Thank Steen.  I was just trying to make a fairly generic loot table to give to basic NPC's.  The default barrel loot is kind of boring.  I'm new to this.  When I saw BetterLoot and Looty and an option in the plugin for it I got excited.  Not sure how to accomplish my task.

I don't know what looty is but I think you should be able to make a profile for scientistnpc_roam in BetterLoot, I think,
and then all BotReSpawn npcs would get that.

Does that help?

It does, but I'm just going to setup your CustomLoot plugin for this purpose, since they are designed with each other in mind.

If you're happy with all profiles having the same loot I'd go the BetterLoot way,
because you're familiar and that's pretty straight forward.

For unique loot per-profile, though, CustomLoot is the way, even if it is more work.

I'll have to trial and error.  I setup a custom loot table in CustomLoot(assigned to roadsign9), tweaked it for what I wanted.  reloaded both plugins, reloaded the monument, killed the npc and still only got a pipe and sign.  I'm very unsure if I'm missing something obvious in the global settings or just don't have something configured right on BotRespawn.  Or it could just be a complete lack of understanding lol.

I was able to get BetterLoot to work.  I replaced the loot for Scientist NPC Roam with my custom NPC loot table.  And enabled the "Allow BetterLoot" global setting and it works now.  Would be dope if we could do something similar by using the profiles "Rust Loot Source" and then selecting the container we want to use too, instead of the scientist prefab being the only option.

Great mod my man - absolutely fantastic.

I'll take a look in to that. What you're describing would be ideal, but it would require BetterLoot to have API to make it work, most likely.

I did do such a thing for AlphaLoot, so selecting vanilla loot sources does actually get AlphaLooted, if you have it set up.
Being able to to the same automatically with BetterLoot would be nice.
