Better NPC error

Hi,

Sorry to bother you with this.

I keep receiving the following error messages when I use BetterNPC with your Sea Skull 1.1.9 map. I have all the latest updates. I wouldn't normally worry too much about it but the error is constantly spamming the command consol with the following message.

'Failed to create agent because it is not close enough to the NavMesh
Failed to create agent because it is not close enough to the NavMesh
Failed to create agent because it is not close enough to the NavMesh'

So much so that it's difficult to type in commands. The gameplay also feels a little more choppy than I usually experience, possibly because of this spamming message? I run my serverr on a private network just for family members.

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Kind Regards

Robert

Hello, this is an error in the plugin, it is not a map error.
- You can request support from the plugin developer.
- You can also disable the “debug log” from the plugin configuration file.
- You can also disable unnecessary messages in the console with this command:

console.erroroverlay false

Much appreciated

Hi,

Sorry to bother you again, it does appear to be an issue with the map. I have installed a fresh clean server with no Oxide or Carbon installed, so no plugins whatsoever. With your Sea Skull 1.1.9 map the server is spammed with this message.

'Failed to create agent because it is not close enough to the NavMesh
Failed to create agent because it is not close enough to the NavMesh
Failed to create agent because it is not close enough to the NavMesh'

I initially thought it was Better NPC, but now there are no plugins at all, just the map on a clean install. Also the command  console command erroroverlay false doesn't have any effect.

Hello, this error is caused by an object (possibly an NPC) attempting to appear below coordinates 0.00, 0.00, 0.00.

I will update the map to try to correct this error. I will remove all NPCs that are below the “0” coordinate.

I should mention that RustEdit is not stable. Currently, RustEdit has multiple errors, so this error may be due to errors in RustEdit.

This error is a classic Rust error. This error should disappear with the modification I am going to make to the map.

If this error does not disappear, I will wait for RustEdit to stabilize, since, as I mentioned, RustEdit has multiple bugs.

In addition to all this, I will provide you with a plugin that corrects this error. This plugin will be useful for future maps on your server, as this error is very common in Rust.

Add-on: https://umod.org/plugins/nav-mesh-error-fix

Don't worry about bothering me, feel free to write to me whenever you need help with one of my products. My priority is for players to have a good gaming experience.

Thank you for the report, have a nice day.

Hi,

Ok, thanks.

I look forward to the updated map.

In the meantime I will give the plugin a try. Yes I have come across this before but never to the degree of completely spamming the command console.

BTW I'm loving the map 👍

Thanks also for the quick response

In SeaSkull, you will see this error more often because the map is 6000, which is a very large map, the maximum size.

Unfortunately, the add-on does not work. Let me investigate this error. I am running tests and have verified that the error only appears on custom maps. It may be a umod (rust) or carbon mod error.

I am sorry to say that I will not be able to upload a new version of Sea Skull, as the error persists.

As soon as I fix it, I will release a new map update.

I also suggest you use this administration tool: https://www.rustadmin.com/ . In this panel, the error does not appear, and you will have more control over the server.

I will try to find a solution as soon as possible, but, as I mentioned, this is a bug that has existed since the beginning.

Best regards.

I'm working on it, but it seems to be a problem with the general mod (oxide-carbon). I will close the ticket, if you need anything else feel free to contact me. Have a nice day. You're welcome.
