I have been testing on different servers with a fresh config and edited config, and both results are the same: when I add a monument with /SpawnPointAdd {name} the npc's that spawn immediately move and attack as they should. Now when I add several positions with /SpawnPointAddPos 01 {name} at the same location as where I added the monument name and reload the plugin without changing anything in the config or profile they stop moving, they wont attack. I create at least 15 positions for 4 npc's that are added, enlargen the radius, but still they wont move. When I add a custom config from for example Gruber which are incl with his map, still no movement and they wont attack.  "Enable sleeping NPCs outside of player range to improve performance? [true/false]" doesnt change anything either, true or false they wont move or attack. How to solve this issue?

Are you by chance in vanish when you are testing this? Just the first thing that comes to mind. I have not gotten any other feedback similar to this recently but more than happy to help look into it. If you wanted to join the Mad Mapper Discord so you can more privately share the file for review that would be fine. As just based on the description of what you have done I don't read anything that gives me any other ideas at the moment. If they have the same NPC settings before and after then they should act the same as well.

I have the same symptoms.
The NPCs just move around and do not attack.
Once I give them an attack, they fight back after a while.
But some NPCs will just walk around.

No im not in vanish and im standing 4 feet away from the npc's and they still dont attack, they only attack when getting real close and they wont move an inch.

What file do you want me to share since its all default config, and tested on modded and clean fresh installed servers?

Want me to make a video?

On top of those issues, when I spawn a Npc facing north, it spawns facing the opposite side, south?

Why?

Yes please you can share a video, if you are using the default configuration just let me know which locations you are referring to. You described setting up a custom file so that was what I was asking for. The Mad Mapper Discord ticket system would be more private if you would like to join and make a ticket there.

When you tested this on a fresh installed server did you have only the base plugins installed or did you install other plugins? I have only I think 2 reports of this recently so I am looking for a common cause such as possibly another plugins potential interference. But currently not guessing at the problem just collecting data so that we can find it.

Why?

I don't know that there is a directional rotation for NPCs I think this is somewhat default behavior. This should not matter as the NPCs should begin to look or move around based on their settings.

I'm seeing a similar issue withe betterNPC bots. It seems to get worse as time passes between server restarts. Their brains just stop operating as they they do when the server first starts.
Seems to be reaction time, they'll just roam around then suddenly spring into action.

I don't think it's a performance issue as server FPS is stable and > 40.

I've attached some videos provided by a player on my server, the configs for these bots are fine and this behavior gets worse the longer the bot is on the server.

I've tried both Oxide and Carbon (recently switched)

I've checked things like aimanager.ai_dormant settings and all fine.

I've tried with default configurations.

I don't get the same issue with BotReSpawn bots.

Happy to send configs in Dms or dive in and assist troubleshooting if needed

I appreciate the willingness to troubleshoot and the work testing it.

My only concern about all those changes, mostly just as far as switching from oxide to carbon, is there are a few things to ensure you do when making the switch to avoid issues, same with switching back.

Still we are more than happy to dig into it with you.

Easiest sometimes in Discord if you're cool with that? Hop in the Mad Mapper Discord, create a ticket, and tag KpucTaJl and myself in a ticket if you would.

Sounds like you have checked all kinds of shit so we might start with some of the basics and just go through it all until we can find a culprit and resolution.

so i have the same issue but i don't use the plugin currently.

And when i reload NPC Spawner it fixes the issue.
I think some other plugin overwrites it. but have not figured this out yet.

so the problem has been solved, found out the machine where my server was running had some issues where the server was running on 10/15 fps instead of 60.
After changing machine and booting up the server seems to solve the problem. now running 60fps.

Thank you for sharing the resolution for your case.

Unfortunately I don't think this will be the fix for everyone, because even though some of the behavior is similar it is likely different causes with similar results.

Generally this type of thing is either a performance issue, interaction with another plugin, or something within configuration. But it can be different case by case.

For anyone still having issues if you haven't found a resolution I do recommend jumping into the Discord and creating a ticket. I do most of the monitoring on the sites but KpucTaJl the developer is active in the Discord and will help with tickets when I am working, sleeping, or otherwise busy. I just started a new job and have been doing a lot of traveling lately and Discord is a bit easier for me to monitor when I'm mobile.

Hello Jbird,

I was wrong in the message, it solved the issue for a short time.
I dont use the Better NPC plugin but all my vanilla NPC's were braindead. after a while i found out that Zombie Horde was giving some issues. after unloading it everything seems to work correct.
Contacted the owner of the ZombieHorde plugin and he is ofc pointing it to a different plugin, that may cause the issue. so far no perm solution

Thank you for the update.

If things are NOT working correct then I would continue to diagnose.

If things seem fine then disregard and go about your day. That is not at all normal behavior.
